A REALLY Pretentious Dedication

"If I read a book and it makes my whole body so cold no fire can ever warm me, I know that is poetry."-Emily Dickinson

I've never been one to write poetry. I guess this is partly because I've never liked to express my feelings. But it's also because I never feel that I have anything real about which to write poetry. I just assumed that all poems had to be emotion filled works inspired by a tear jerking sight or experience or something of the like.

Over the past few months, I've been overwhelmed with my own thoughts about friends and family and the future and the past, so I decided to write it all down. The following poems are what happened when I put pen to paper. So I guess this was my way to practice writing poetry.

This is dedicated to all of you, I'm positive that someone you know is writing poetry about you somewhere. And at the risk of sounding even more pretentious (because I'm already doing a great job of it), I'll end this little note here.

Thank you so much for reading.
