"Her?" He was looking at the man beside him as if he'd lost his mind. John nodded. "Nah, man they ain't no way she's my trainer. I mean come on look at her, sure she's tall but that little thing wouldn't last through even one of my workouts." John just laughed at him.
"Heh, I'd love to see you make it through one of hers without puking." Karl looked at the man as if he was insane. He thought about it for a moment but her? His trainer? The academy was one of the finest in this galaxy, and it was rare to even see a woman in the Core. Let alone have one as his trainer. Just as the thought crossed his mind she turned and started making her way toward them. John immediately straightened, which Karl noticed with a bit of surprise.
"Lieutenant Rayken," the woman nodded to John wiping her hands off on the towel strung about her neck. "So, this is the new recruit eh?" She chuckled.
"Uh ye-yes Commander," John stuttered. The more time the commander spent over here the more Karl worried. Commander? A woman?
"What's wrong with your face recruit? You always look like that?" The commander asked with a furrowed brow. John was glancing worriedly between the two of them.
"N-no, Sir."
"Right, well then best we get started." She waved the lieutenant off to other duties before continuing. "Commander May Valence and you are?"
"Karl Gyresian, Sir."
