Pain

What does it mean
When the word seems to stop?
When you seem to be broken
And far from the top?

Your mind seems to fail you,
Your heart seems to break,
And, though it is gone,
Your heart seems to ache.

Your world takes a pause,
It stops on a dime.
You can't move at all;
You're frozen in time.

Then the tears start to fall,
And you can't help but cry.
Standing there you think
"Why God? Why?"

Life can be cruel
In so many ways.
No matter what happens,
The pain always stays.

But remember the past;
It helps you grow strong.
The people you knew
Help carry you on.
