He was right. I was standing in the rain as steam rolled off my body and the water burning my skin. I could feel the smoke curling around me in a misty fog, making it look like I was going to rise off the ground and summon a spell to unleash all Hell upon this earth. I don't blame him for being scared, but he's still a butt head.

"Wait I can explain," I tried saying as I reached out for him.

"Stay away, you freak!" Okay man, I get it; quit throwing names around.

"You don't understand! I don't know-"

"Oh I understand perfectly," he said with a snarl. "That's why you're going with them and never coming back."

As he said this he pointed toward the horizon where I could see and hear the police car sirens blaring and flashing their lights.

"No. No, no, no, no," I muttered to myself. If they caught me, no doubt they would want to do experiments on me, and soon I'll be a hamster in a cage with everyone examining me like an animal in the zoo. It scared me, and I started to hyperventilate. My body got increasingly warmer, but I didn't notice anything until Asher started to back away. I looked up and saw something on fire in the reflection of his eyes. I looked behind me but I didn't see anything except the police cars, growing nearer by the second. That's when I looked down and saw my arms ablaze, the rain not even making a difference to the flames. I looked up at Asher again, and what I saw in his eyes was cold raw fear. That was enough to break my anxiety and realize I something.

I was a monster.

I sunk to my knees, the fire finally going out and raked my fingers through my dry hair, even though it was now pouring. I was now a monster, and to make it worse, a fire monster, which is the monster of all the Earth elements.

Monster, monster, monster.

So when the police arrived to take me away, I didn't even put up a fight, because an experiment lab or a prison cell is where a monster belonged.

I woke up on the cold floor. I don't remember much of what happened, but I'm pretty certain they drugged me. That's the only logical explanation for it.

My cell was very small. It had to be less than a hundred square feet, with on large shelf a couple of inches off the floor (I'm pretty sure that's where I will be sleeping) and a bucket in the opposite corner. The floor was steel that looked particularly new, while the walls and roof had a rusty look to them. On one of the walls would be the big steel door that locked me in here in the first place.

I walked over to the door and peeked through the tiny window in the top part of the door. To guards were standing outside the door talking to each other. I put my ear to the door and tried to listen in.

"What do...Officer Mark...to do...her?"

"I'm not...myself...he will...run a...experiments first, see what....happening...after that-" he got cut off by his walky-talky. The first part didn't make sense, but they are going to experiment on me!? This is not good at all.

"Roger...I'll...grab her." Oh no! He's coming! I need a plan, and I need one fast.

(Guard's point of view)

"All right Steve, we need to grab the girl take her to Mark, an order straight from the man himself."

"All right, then let's grab her and get going."

I pulled my set of keys out of my pocket and found the right key that fit in the hole. Before I unlocked the door, I turned to Steve.

"Make sure to be careful. She can burst into flames and you don't want to get burned."

"I know Carl," he said, with a roll of his eyes.

"Good. Just making sure," and with that, I opened the door and looked into...

An empty room.

"What? Boss said-" and then a heard what was like an inhuman shriek, like a mix between an owl and a howler monkey. A second later I was on the floor, with a girl with flaming hair on top of me, growling like a ferocious beast. My keys were yanked out of my hand and my walky-talky ripped off of my belt. Steve went at a full charge toward her, but she lit her hands and held them in front of her, causing Steve to stop and fall on his butt to avoid the flames. He scampered back all the way against the wall.

With that, she extinguished all her flames, threw a smile over her shoulder and walked out of the room, locking us in. I scrambled to my feet and got to the door to look through the window. I saw the girl making an L with her fingers on her head and doing a little dance. She stuck out her tongue and spit at me, turned and walked away. I turned around and slid down the door.

"Well," Steve said. "That went well."

(Back to Bri's point of view)

After that escape, I was feeling pretty proud of myself, strutting down the hallway. I even let myself do a little heel click in celebration, which I failed and landed on the ground, but that didn't faze me so I kept on walking. I was so high up in the clouds that I almost didn't see the other guards when I turned to corner. I quickly made myself back up.

Ok, Briana, so you haven't thought this far in your plan yet, but that doesn't matter because you'll come up with another one in no time. Of course, like the last time, I did not get much time to think through a plan because the walky-talky I stole decided to talk.

"Carl, come in Carl."

Crap, crap, crap.

I didn't risk peaking at the guards around the corner knowing that they probably had their head turned this way.

"Carl, what's going on?" I would assume Mark said through the walky-talky.

"Oh yes, sorry sir, what's wrong?" I replied in my deepest voice

"Do you have the girl? I need her in my office now! What's taking so long?"

"Oh, sorry sir, the prisoner was struggling a lot but we are on our way."

"Good. I'm tired of waiting. Also, find a way to make your voice deeper. It's too annoying to talk to," and then the walky-talky went silent.

I took a deep breath and turned around ready to get a well thought out plan together. Instead, I found the faces of the guards from around the corner.

With their guns pointing at me.
