Backstory:
He is unsure of his parentage as that part of his memory was hidden deep within his mind as he did not wish to remember his upbringing. He was still young when he found Smaug, a young adult in dragon years. He raised the fire drake like his brother, and they had been for quite some time until the young Smaug began to become greedy, obsessed with shiny things such as gold and gems of all kinds. Kruziikkul tried to stop his brother but to no avail; he was forced to abandon his brother or die trying to save him, but many years later when he caught wind of him in the lonely mountain he went to confront his brother who was too far gone to recognize the one who raised him, the only parental figure he had. The dragon Kruziikkul once knew was no more now controlled by greed. They battled for weeks on end neither giving in until the older dragon was wounded, his scales over his heart falling to the ground the older one was forced to flee once again now covered in scars. He has barely been seen since that day. He is but a myth now, a story upon a tapestry that parents tell their children of. The purple dragon who fought Smaug the terrible and was wounded, thought to be dead. The only one who visits him is Gandalf the grey whenever the wizard can.

The tapestry can be seen here: Smaug (top) battling Kruziikkul (bottom)
