Hoseok
Year 10, July 23
It was when I counted up to four that I heard laughter like auditory hallucinations. The next moment, the young me, brushed passed holding someone's hand. I turned around quickly, but no one was there, only classmates looking at me. "Hoseok-ah." The teacher called my name. Then I realized where I was. It was math class. I was counting the fruits on my textbook. Five or six. I counted the numbers again, but as I counted them one by one, my voice shook and my hands were sweating. The memory of the time kept coming to mind.
I can't remember her face that day. The only thought I remember was that I was given a chocolate bar as we looked at the amusement park. "Hoseok, you count up to ten and then open your eyes. " When I opened my eyes after counting all the numbers, my mother was gone. I waited and waited, but she never came back. The last number I counted was nine. I couldn't find my voice even though I could only think of one more thing. My ears were ringing and the surroundings were hazy. The teacher gestured to keep going. My friends looked at me. I couldn't remember her face. Indeed, after counting one more, I felt like my mom would never find me.
I literally fell to the ground.
