“Angie! Come over here.. You have to feed the chickens!” My ear twitched before quietly getting up,my small, shaky feet pitter pattering on the dirty floor to my older brother who was about 13 years of age. He looked more like our mother, with short dirty blonde hair and tired green eyes.

“Where is grammy? She said she would teach me how to plant,” My shaky voice almost mumbling my words as my small frail hands reached out for the chicken feed.

I looked up and saw my brothers eyes flash in worry and sadness before trying to cover it up by flashing me a quick smile.

“Uhmm.. She is sick right now and she won't want you near her..” He quickly looked away so he wouldn't feel the guilt of looking in my deep puppy dog eyes.

“Oh.. is grammy gonna be ok?” My lip quivered  in sadness and worry.

“Just go feed the chickens!” He snapped at me before going into a violent coughing fit. I scampered  off not wanting to anger him more

I quietly hummed as I scattered the chicken food around the floor as our three chickens pecked at the floor with quiet occasional low bawks at each other as they moved around. I let out a soft sigh as I looked up at the sky. Having a quiet peaceful moment, but my moment was sadly ruined by a faint scream echoing from the town over. My head snapped to the back door as it slammed open to show a panicked Theodor.

“W-whats going on?” I pushed hair  from my face now looking as worried as my brother.

“Get in the house now!” He yelled looking panicked and scared. Not waiting to listen to him I quickly ran to the stairs kicking up dust with my small feet as I ran. Once I reached the steps, Theo picked me up and stuffed me into our small cramped storage unit.

“Hey!” I looked up at him as tears welled in my eyes not knowing what's going on.His large tough hands wiped my tears away.

“Stay here. Do not come out until you hear me call for you,” with that she slammed the storage unit door closed. I heard his feet drum against the floor in a panic as he ran away from me. There was a thick silence you could almost cut it with a knife. The loud blair of a viking horn screamed threw the air making my heart drop to my stomach. Grammy would tell me stories but I never thought it would happen.

I sat there for what felt like hours. Hearing blood curdling screams I jumped hearing our door slam open i looked threw the keyhole to see a big scary man with deep jagged scars on his face. He looked almost as big as a bear. With him he had a club stained with a deep red walking over to were grammy rested. She was far too sick to get up and run. I covered my mouth as hot tears rolled down my face as i herd my grandmother's cries for help.  I wanted to rush out and help her but what could I do to a bear like human with a weapon.. Theo also told me to stay put so I just sat there quietly crying until it went quiet. I sucked in my breath watching the big mad man now covered in blood, fresh blood dripping from his spiked club…

The smell of iron and smoke filled my nose as the screams as scream slowly stopped the smell only got stronger. My face feels red and puffy,My fingers trembled  as i reached up wiping away what felt like my 100th tear. Quietly sniffling I bury my tear stained face into my knees quietly mumbling a lullaby that Theo would sing to me when i was scared, With that i slowly lulled myself to sleep trying to ignore the insanity that was occurring outside..

“-gie? Angie!” My heavy eyes snapped open hearing a strained voice call out for me, my boney hand reached out for the handle my bones cracking and popping from from being crammed into this small space. Once i was out my body sore and weak from dehydration.I looked around the room to see it all messy and looking like a pig sty..I also noticed that my mother's silver necklace was taken off the wall as well as missing vases.. I let out a small weak

“Theo..,” my voice scratching my my throat as I made my way to the doorway. I coughed from the smoke. I  looked out the window to see if it was really him.. Only to see him with a different scary man behind him getting ready to attack. My body just reacted i ran out the door yelling fo him to move… But it was like it was  to late the club slammed onto his head . His wine red blood splattered everywhere. splattering onto me, into the air and onto the floor It was almost in slow motion.. He was just smiling at me falling to the floor his now lifeless eyes staring at me i look at him now on the floor . A small whimper  escaping my lips as his blood pooled around his limp body. I let out a small dry gasp as I felt a shadow of the man in front of me.. I looked up to see a glint of enjoyment in his eyes as warm tears rolled down my face. His club rushing down to my face. But it felt like it took hours to reach me. I let out a small weak

“why?” before red blurred my vision, then black.. It was almost peaceful like.. I didn't feel anything i could finally see grammy and Theo again… Is this what Grammy meant when she said we all end up in a peaceful place?
