The Story of 2 Orphans

An important encounter

“Lucy, come back!”  a girl shout to another one in a wheelchair.
The scene was quite strange. A 20-years-old girl chasing after another 20-years-old in a wheelchair. The one called “Lucy” seemed to be enjoying herself, even if what she was doing was very dangerous. That was probably the reason why the other girl was freaking out so badly. What was Lucy doing? She was “ running ” around in her wheelchair, challenging  her well-being. She had legs, but they were plastered. In something like 5 minutes, Lucy was able to escape from the other girl's sight. Lucy turned left, only to found a descent. She looked around and saw that the other girl was coming close to her. She said to herself : “Now or never”, and she began to descend (in great speed) that descent, doing a slalom among the people who walked that path. Two guys were near the top and when Lucy started her “suicide”, they immediately stopped to see what was happening. Down that hill there was a road with traffic lights. Lucy was about to cross, but the light turned red. She dammed the lights, because now her friend would have the time to reach her. And Lucy was right, because a moment after the lights turned red a shout camed to her ear : “ LUCY!”. « I'm doomed..», Lucy thought while her friend was running to reach her. But she didn't pay much attention to the road and a car almost hit her. The girl next to the driver's seat came out and yelled : “ Are you out of your mind?! You could have gotten hit! You should pay attention to where you go.” But Lucy's friend was not paying attention to the girl and instead she asked her :“ Can I borrow the skate inside the car? I promise I will give it back in a matter of seconds.” The guy that was driving came out and said : “ Suit yourself.” So the girl did and, with some very good skate tricks, she was behind Lucy in no time. Then she started pushing Lucy toward the top of the hill. When she returned to the car of whom had given her the skate, she returned the skate (without noticing that those people were speechless) and started arguing with Lucy. “ What were you thinking?! Do you wanna kill yourself at this rate?! Why are you always so careless? I swear, you're going to be the end of me.” Lucy replayed angry : “ And why are you always this over-protective, Kristina?? I can't do a thing without you freaking out! In a while I will not be able even to breathe!” Kristina sighed : “ That is not true and you know it, Lucy. I freak out when you do things like this. Things that may hurt you very bad. Tell me, would like to stay in a bed for your entire life, just because when your legs were plastered you couldn't wait 2 weeks, but instead you did crazy stuff like this?” Lucy stayed silent. Then she answered : “ No..” Kristina asked once more : “ So why you have to do this? I know that sometimes I can be over-protective, but I'm just worried about you. Your my little sis and I swore to take care of you.” Lucy seemed offended : “ Hey! I'm only one year younger!” “ That does not change the fact that you're my younger sister” said Kristina. Lucy finally accepted the defeat : “ Fine. Your right. And.. I'm sorry. I'll be more careful from now. I promise.” Kristina smiled and said : “ Ok. Do you wanna get an ice-cream, now?” Lucy replayed happily : “ Who doesn't want an ice-cream?? Of course yeah! Your the best big sis I could ever get, Kristina!”.
And so the two girl went to get ice-cream, not knowing that the people they met (that is : the two guys, the girl and the guy with the skate) listened to all of their conversation and that they would play a big role in the two girls life, changing it completely. It was indeed a very strange first meeting, but also a very significant one.
