I looked down at the beautiful city beneath me as I breathed into the cold winter air. The people glinted with joy as usual as they laughed and bickered to each other, completely oblivious to the two college students sitting on top of a tall building.
"It's so beautiful!" She exclaimed beside me, her eyes filled with excitement and happiness. She had her usual gummy smile plastered on her face, the wind softly blowing on her soft features.
"Yeah, she is." I mumbled to myself, a part of me wanted her to hear that but there was also a part of me that didn't. It seems like she didn't hear me which made me frown.
"What are you going to do after you graduate?" She asked me with curiosity creeping up in her voice. I saw her rip a piece of paper from her notebook, I don't really know what was the contents of that notebook. She never really told anyone. I finally decided to break the silence by saying.
"I don't know." I told her honestly, as she frowned and began to make a paper airplane with the paper she held in her hands.
"How about you?" I asked the brown haired girl, her smile immediately returned. She beamed at me and said.
"I've always loved traveling, but it's too expensive.. that's why I want to be a flight attendant." She then threw the paper airplane as it glided softly off the roof, the wind carrying the paper airplane to god knows where.
"Isn't that dangerous though?" I asked her.
"Yeah, I know." She spoke in a different tone than before, a mix of sadness and excitement.
Those were her last words.
The last words I heard from her.
