DING DONG!
I rang the doorbell to the Quincy's home, and waited for someone to answer the door.
"Hey, Ann!" exclaimed Nichole giving me a hug and letting me enter the house.
"Hey, Nichole. By the way thanks so much for letting me stay here for the year."
"Yeah! Of course! We are more than happy to have you. I'll take you to the guest room."
She led me down to the basement, her Australian shepherd Vivi following behind, and helped me unpack my stuff.
"You have such cute clothes!" said Nicole picking up my off the shoulder crop tops and placing them in the dresser.
"Thanks. So where's Peter?" I asked curiously. Peter was Nicole's brother who grew up with me. Nicole is two years older than us.
"Out with Jen, as usual." she answered. I nodded taking my toiletry bag to the bathroom. Jen was Peter's girlfriend of three years. I used to be head over heels for him but I'm over that... Mostly.
"Hey, I got to go out for a bit so Mom is upstairs if you need anything."
"Okay, thanks so much, Nichole."
Nichole left the room and I sat out on the couch in the basement with a book. I was reading for an hour or so and I heard someone barge through the basement door. I looked over my book to find a soaking wet shirtless Peter. He caught me looking at him confused.
"Hey, Ann," he smirked.
"Hey Peter. Care to explain why you are shirtless?"
"Oh I was watching a movie with Jen and-"
"I was kidding dumbbell."
Peter walked past me and shoved the book into my face. I laughed and kept reading.
"Ann, Peter, Nichole, dinner!" called Mr. Quincy. We all went from Nichole's room downstairs to the dinning room. We sat down and all started eating.
"So, how are you Ann." asked Mrs. Quincy.
"I'm fine. Thank you so much for letting me stay here for the year." I mentioned.
"Of course dear."
The rest of dinner was mostly Peter going on and on about lacrosse. I couldn't help but stare at him as he talked. I noticed how blue his eyes were and how thick his short ginger hair was. No. I looked away, finally, and helped Nichole wash the dishes.
"Tell me you don't like Peter." Nichole said handing me a dish to dry.
"Well-" I started.
"Come on, Ann."
"What?"
"He's not worth it."
"Everyone tells me that."
"Cause it's true."
"Whatever."
When we had finished washing the dishes I went downstairs to my room and hopped in the shower. The hot water relaxed my extremely sore muscles from the cross country meet I just had. I finally got out of the shower and put a t-shirt on and walked out of the bathroom putting my hair into a messy bun.
"Hey, Ann." said Peter.
"OMG!" I said pulling the shirt down so he could'nt see my underwear, "what are you doing?"
"Well I was gonna tell you we were all gonna play Pictionary." His amused face answered to my angry glare.
"Okay well can you pass me that pair of shorts?" He grinned and grabbed them.
"DON"T YOU DARE!" he grabbed my hand and ran out the guest bedroom door and then locked it with a key he had. I chased him all around the basement and he decided to sprint outside.
"Come on!" I whispered to myself sprinting outside and chasing him around the backyard and back into the basement. He ran upstairs and I chased him all the way to his room. He juked me and sprinted back downstairs.
"Peter, Come on!" I exclaimed from the other side of the ping-pong table, "Just give me the shorts!"
"What's the fun in that?" He answered as I sprinted to his side of the table which made him switch to my side.
"Why are you doing this?"
"It's-" I chased him again, "hilarious."
"Really?" I chased him around the basement again until finally I accidentally tackled him and grabbed the shorts and key out of his hand sprinting to the door of my room and entering. I changed into the shorts quickly and then left the room handing him the key.
"You could'nt resist doing that to me could you?" I asked.
"Nope." He answered simply giving me a smirk.
I rolled my eyes and we went up to play Pictionary.
'And all that for a pair of shorts.' I thought.
