Part 1: Nuptials

            Katarina smiled as she scattered about flowers behind the bride with her soon-to-be stepsister.  Her mother had never looked happier, though Kat suspected she was more pleased with becoming the new Queen than she was with the handsome man waiting for her at the altar. The other flower-girl, Princess Anya, glowed like a radiant sun. Anya, Kat knew, was simply enamored with happiness for her father. Each girl having lost a parent at a young age, Kat knew that they would bond and quickly. She giggled to herself as she stood in line next to the other women of honor. Anya nudged her and quickly brushed away a flyaway strand of Kat's fantastically curly and long ginger hair. The two girls chuckled softly and turned to watch the ceremony.

           The officator placed the crowns upon the newly-weds heads as man and wife exchanged rings and a kiss. As the couple desended down the aisle, the newly crowned Queen Dayna shot a small look towards Anya. It was quick and small, but Kat saw it. A shiver crept down her back in spite of the joyous new sister at her side.
