Meeting The Parents (On Hold)

Thank you to Bobbylein and my dad. You two have been my biggest supporters and have encouraged me to come out of my shell and write this.

Raysen and I have been dating for awhile now, we'll for almost a year and a half. We met not long after we started our sophomore year in college. I offered to help him with his studies after a gust of wind came through and blew a paper of this throughout the courtyard and I saw how much he was struggling. When I started college it was a huge thing for me. For as long as I could remember I was helping my mom care for my siblings until my brother was diagnosed with autism and then I was basically left to raise him and my sister while still growing up myself. So needless to say my relationship with with my mother was very strained, but I loved her nonetheless. My dad wasn't all that great either and I never really trusted him. In the mix of all this my dad's parents became my greatest supporter. Well that changed the summer I turned 15. That summer my mom met my current step dad, who I think of as my actual dad. I came home from being at camp for the summer to a strange man living in my house, hugging and kissing on my mother. My moms past relationship is where she had my brother and sister, and he left us with some emotional scars. So when I met this new guy I didn't really trust him, but slowly he wiggled himself into my heart and changed my world, he became a person that I trusted more than anyone. So when I started college it was a bittersweet moment. I was leaving the guy who stepped up and acted like my dad and helped my care for my siblings, but I was finally getting away from all of it, the pressure, the town that never wanted me, and all the bad memories that were in this town. I was lonely that first year and desperately wanted to go home to my dad and siblings but he encouraged me to stay. Everything changed the moment I met Raysen.
