It was a fairly normal day in the life of Emil Steilsson. Lukas had been a pain as usual, refusing to leave him alone if he did not call him 'Big Brother'. He had however left him to do something else entirely for no apparent reason. Not that Emil was bother with it, now he could finally enjoy some peace and quiet.
There was a knock on his bedroom door. "Emil?"
He sighed but answered him nonetheless. "What do you want?" he had moved to open his door but it was flung open the moment he spoke so now he was just standing in the middle of his room.
"A friend of mine is coming over soon." Lukas said with his usual monotone voice.
His eyes instantly went to his brother's fate mark that was shoving, he opened his mouth to ask him about it but he was instantly shut down.
"He is not my soulmate if that was what you were going to ask."
Emil nodded and Lukas went back down to prepare something for the night. He went over to his desk and sat down, pulling his own sleeve up to reveal his fate mark. Usually he wasn't bothered by it as he had memorized it when it first appeared.
Leaning back in the chair he sighed, who would even call him cute? And Ice, was that supposed to be some kind of nickname? The thought was eating him up and he barley heard when someone drove up to their house and parked in front of it. Barley noticed when the bell ringed and Lukas let the mysterious person inside.
However, he was brought out of his thoughts when he heard Lukas say his name, curious he walked down the stairs as he quickly covered his fate mark again.
Stopping at the bottom of the stairs, staring. This friend his brother has was gorgeous. He was tall and well built, his blond hair stood up one side and Emil was pretty sure it was just his bed head. The eyes they had to be most beautiful he had ever seen, a piercing blue shade that shone with playfulness.
"Emil, this is Mathias. Mathias, Emil." Lukas introduced them and all the while they stood staring at each other.
Mathias was the first one to speak out of the two of them. "You're so cute, Ice!"
He could feel himself smile before it quickly faltered in realization. What had he just said? There was that obnoxious nickname and he called him cute. Those were the exact words that were imprinted on his arm. He grasped at his own arm, there was no way this could be his soulmate.
"What?" it was only a whisper, he wasn't even sure Mathias had heard him.
Lukas had already left them as Mathias stood staring at him, slowly realizing what was happening.
"I... we're... You are..."
"Shut up." Emil cut him off with a sharp whisper, careful so that his brother wouldn't hear. "I need to think." With that he went after Lukas in to the kitchen.

He sat through the dinner quiet, thoughts running through him. At times, he had felt Mathias glance at him. He knew that he had to talk to him sooner or later.
Emil knew he was being childish but couldn't help it, after all he had no idea how you are supposed to react. So, he resorted to pushing him away and stay silent.
"il?"
"Em..."
"Emil?
Shaking his head as he was drawn out of his head, he looked to were the voice was coming from and came face to face with Mathias. Lukas had left the room to do who knew what and the man in front of him had taken the opportunity to talk to him.
"What?" he practically spat at him after the shock of him being so close had cooled down.
"Do you..." Mathias trailed off and looked at the ground, who knew that he could look so insecure. "Do you hate that it's me?"
Emil cupped his cheek and gently rubbed a thumb against it. "No, I was just surprised."
Mathias looked up at him and smiled brightly. "I'm glad."
"Good." he let his cheek go and leans in enough to give it a soft peck. Just were was this going to take him?
