Chapter 1

*Two years later, 2014, present time*

Although Keaton has been on tour with his brother, Wesley, and friend, Drew, Lucy kept going to their surf spot. It was theirs, no one else knew about it. Of course she went surfing with the other guys, but this was the place that their friendship really blossomed. It may have started on the board walk two years ago, but the waves were where they realized that they had a lot in common. Keaton had texted her yesterday saying that they would be back any day now. She was nervous and excited because she missed her best friend. Lucy had other friends, most are friends with Keaton, Wes and Drew as well, but she felt different when she was with Keaton. At the moment she was sitting on her board letting the salt water scent fill her up, making her smile instantly. She was most at home in the water, always had been. The waves weren't as good as normal, she had been out here for two hours and only been able to ride two waves that were semi good. She waited a few more minutes until she finally decided it was time to go home and see if her family needed her. She was still 17, and a senior in high school. Sadly Keaton was doing a home schooling program and the rest of the boys were older, so she didn't get to see them that much. When she turned around in the water, she could see an outline of a figure on the beach. Lucy tried to squint her eyes to see who it was, but she was just too far to tell who it is. She paddled slowly, not sure if she knew the mystery person or not. The figure started waving at her and jumping around. It didn't even take Lucy a minute to figure out that it was her goofy friend, Keaton, back from his tour. Lucy hurriedly paddled into shore and when she finally got there she stumbled when a wave crashed at her ankles. Keaton jogged over to her and wrapped his arms around her without bothering to give her a towel to dry off.

"Luce, you are all wet!"

"I wonder why, it isn't like I just came from the ocean or anything! Gosh Keats, sometimes I worry about your brain."

"Sometimes I wonder why I am friends with you."

"that was hurtful!"

"So, how was the waves?"

"Terrible! It was like once you left all the waves decided not to show themselves to me."

"Must have realized that the expert surfer wasn't here to show themselves."

"Expert surfer? And who's that? Certainly not you."

"Oh but aren't I?"

"No. you aren't."

"I missed you...your sassiness."

"I didn't miss your sassiness what so ever."

"Oh ok."

"How was tour?"

"It was great, lots of running around. The shows were awesome."

"That's good. I'm glad you are back though."

"So you did miss me?!"

"Keaton, I was being sarcastic. Of course I missed you. You are such an idiot sometimes."

"I am not!"

"So where's Wes and Drew?"

"At the apartment. Why do you ask?"

"Just wondering."

"I would never bring them here. This is our place. Isn't that what we agreed on? Keep this a secret for us, but still surf with the others."

"yeah. I just nevermind. Do you want some food?"

"Yes, did you even have to ask?"

"No, I don't know why I did."
