"Tell me why you are trying to weasel your way into my life? I already told you I would help with Amelia so you can can it with all this 'I promise' and taking me to my favorite restaurant crap." she growled.

"I just thought-" He sputtered but was cut off by her finger on his lips. She had completely stood up, bent over, and placed that singular finger on his lips.

"Stop thinking. It is not your strongest quality."

The insult stung like a scorpion snapping at its prey. And she was incorrect when it came to his intelligence. It took brains to bed so many women and not have a singular one come and bite him in the ass.

He grabbed and then pushed away her wrist.

"I get it Sarah," He then tried to let go of her arm like it was some vile dead animal, but he found it hard to pretend.

"Now you want to figure out what went wrong with Amelia so you can fix it. Making her think you have moved on and now want to impress me, was actually pretty smart. So I take back my initial supposition of you being a total buffoon." she sat back down, readjusting herself in her seat.

"Who still talks like that? 'Suspposition'? 'Buffoon'? Sarah I think you were born in the wrong century," He joked.

"Nope. I just happened to have read the dictionary. Yes, it is incredibly lame, but like you said, I like being alone so I had to find some ways to pass the time. And if you crack a joke about how you could think of better ways may I remind you that takes two people."

"Not if you do it right," she choked on the large sip of water she was taking looking around to make sure no one had saw her. He knew she thought she had covered all the bases but he was a sexual person who knew that once in awhile being by yourself could be just as fun.

"What? Have you never enjoyed the pleasure of your own company?" he leaned in for only her to hear his voice get deeper.

"That is none of your concern, and not even the matter at hand right now," she was flush. He knew he had hit a soft spot. Just not the right one.

"Oh come on Sarah. You can tell me these things," He prodded a little more.

"For fucks sake Ashton. We are in a public place. Can we just figure out what you are going to do so I can get out of this situation entirely?!" She spat and the waiter came along to ask for their orders.

Sarah told him she would have her usual and then he looked over at Ashton. Who was confused as all hell. Sarah quickly ordered for him and went back to berating him.

"Now listen Ashton. I put up with your friendliness, your flirtatiousness, and even your down right vulgarity towards the women you take home on a weekly, probably daily, basis for awhile now. And I have to say if I was Amelia there is not a single thing you could do to convince me that I should be with you, or that you even have feelings towards me. You were trying to use me to get to her when the fact of the matter was, I did not tell her a single thing you told me. Wanna know why? Because she practically begged me never to talk about you. And so every time you texted me, and made me laugh or smile and she asked who it was, I would lie. I lied because you are not some great magical god like person, you think you are," he watched as her green eyes were now being engulfed in heat and tears.

"You are a horrible person bent on using and then destroying everyone in your path until you obtain your final prize. And what are you gonna to do once you get that prize Ashton? Huh? You're gonna get bored. Because that's what people like you do," a tear fell from her face and she quickly wiped it away.

What he didn't expect was to feel one roll down his own cheek. As she batted away hers he quickly wiped away his so she would not see that what she said hit him hard. His heart was a baseball and her words were a bat, and she just took a swing and hit a grand slam out of the park.
