Chapter One - Black

"Cora!" said Mrs. Cyrus, Cora pulled away from the kiss she was having with her boyfriend. "Yes?" she asked, "what are you doing?" asked the teacher, "I'm sitting next to my boyfriend," said Cora, "Like our agreement says, as long as we both have As, we get to sit next to each other" she smiled. "And last time we checked, Logan is sitting at an A and I am sitting at a-" she was interrupted by Mrs. Cyrus putting a test on her desk, "An 89" she said, "now move." Cora picked up her stuff and moved to a desk next to her, "happy?" she asked sarcastically, "there's a perfectly empty desk over there" said the teacher, pointing at an empty desk in the corner of the room. Cora moved and looked over at the teacher, "You know, Mrs. Cyrus, as much as I love you, you really are a pain in my-" Cora was interrupted once more by the ringing of the bell. "Saved by the bell once more Ms. Mack" said the teacher as Cora and her boyfriend, Logan, walked out of the classroom. "So, is the date tonight still a go?" asked Cora, "why wouldn't it be?" responded Logan, "because I have an 89" she said mockingly as they both laughed, "I'll pick you up at 8" said Logan before they he kissed her and they parted ways.

"Ahh, Florida, the sunshine state" said Peyton as he held on to the side of the train like his life depended on it, because it did. He knew the Blood Hounds, a powerful gang, were on the same train and if they caught him it would be the end. He also knew that if he went down to Miami, like he always wanted too, it would be an immediate target, so he had to get off sooner. The train passed the "Welcome to Florida" sign and he knew his destination was close.

"He's going to love this dress" said Chloe, Cora's best friend and neighbor. "You think so?" Cora smiled, looking over at her, "I know so" Chloe laughed but was quickly interrupted by a buzz. Cora picked up her phone, she looked at it and rolled her eyes. "What's wrong?" asked Chloe, "I need to go pick him up, his car won't start" she said picking up her keys. "You go get him, girl!" said Chloe as Cora walked out the door.

The horn of the train blared as it reached its stop, "Gueron City?" Peyton whispered to himself as he looked at a sign which was lit up by lights, otherwise he wouldn't see it in the darkness of the night. "Whatever, this will work" he said as he saw another train coming from the opposite direction. He jumped off and looked to the side seeing the Blood Hounds hop off as well. He began running towards the train as it came closer and the Blood Hounds were chasing him. They soon stopped when the saw the train getting dangerously close. Peyton kept running jumping over the tracks and reaching the other side seconds before the train passed. He suddenly saw a bright blue light coming from his right. He tried to cover the light with his hand but a red glowing circle formed in front of his hand. Both lights became brighter, blinding him, he closed his eyes and shifted his head away, suddenly everything went black.

"In 500 feet, turn right" said a robotic voice coming from Cora's phone. He looked down at it as she drove, suddenly her arms began to glow a blue, forming a giant blade, like a katar. Then, a bright red light came from in front of her, both lights became brighter, blinding her. She suddenly felt the car stop and she felt herself being lifted into the air, something sharp cutting her wrist and forehead, suddenly everything went black.
