What It Takes.

The Mission

My name is Jackson Green. My two best friends and I are Specialists for the U.S. Army. We had just arrived in the middle of the Sarah Desert for the biggest mission of our lives. 

My first friend was named Jake Shepherd. We trained together and became friends pretty quick. My other friend is Luke Chambers. We butt heads sometimes but he is relatively nice and he always works well on our missions.

We were about thirty miles from the target. A man we knew almost nothing about. All we were told was what he looked like and that he was dangerous and had an army.

 We were supposed to recon, wait for backup, and then ambush. That's not how it went. Suddenly everything seemed like it was going on slow motion as I was talking to Jake and an explosion came from the rotors of the helicopter. We were going down, fast. 

"Brace for impact!" I yelled when we came crashing down into the sand. Everything after that seemed like a blur

I groaned a bit as he slowly tried to stand, only to find myself stuck under a piece of the helicopter. I looked around and saw the lifeless bodies of my comrades. 

I wanted to give up right then and there, but I didn't. I slowly lifted the piece of metal off myself and looked at Jake and Luke's bodies. 

"Rest in peace my friends..." I said softly as he looked around, finding only a small Glock on the ground. I ruffled up my dark brown hair as he I looked around the landscape with my sea blue eyes.

There was nothing but sand, sand, and more sand. I needed to find a working radio or something and call for help. That was really my only choice besides starve out here in the  desert.

But one thing was for sure. I was alone in the desert, without food or water, and I needed to find help, fast.
