Author's Note:

So, before I begin this, I need to address some things. First off, I don't own any part of the show or any characters. (Except Squidette. She's a random OC of mine.)

Secondly, I am making this because I am bored.

Thanks. Now...

LET THE HORROR BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!

Beep... Beep... Beep...

I hear a monitor continuously blaring as I slowly resurface from unconsciousness. I open my eyes slowly, my vision very blurry at first, but it gradually swims into focus. The loud beeping noise appears to be coming from a machine off to my left, which monitors my heartbeat. I groan loudly in annoyance as I move my hand to cover my earholes. Ya know, octopuses like me don't have ears, but we can still hear things! But, I find that my arm is full of needles and wires.

I move to stretch. Bad idea. That feeling of pins and needles races up and down my body. I groan again, this time from pain.

"Dad, get the doctor!" I hear my sister's feminine nasal voice yell at my father. Then I hear a loud thump as my father runs into a wall on his way out the door. Squidette, my younger sister, looks at me with sympathy in her eyes.

"Squidette, what happened?" I rasps. My throat hurts. It must not have been in use much, if at all, recently.

She doesn't respond, but I can see in her violet eyes that she is worried about me. What is going on here? My sister has never spoken much, but usually when she is asked a question, she answers it as truthfully as possible.

Finally, Dad comes back into the room with a fish doctor. His real name is Jeffery or Jeff for short, but I call him Dad.

"Hello, Mr. Tentacles." He greets me formally. "My name is Doctor Victor Fishlips." Well, he does have very fat purple lips. "You can call me Victor. I'm going to ask you some questions. Is that okay?" He asks.

Reluctantly, I nod my head.

"Are you in any pain?" Victor takes out a clipboard and pulls a pen out from the deep pocket in his long, white waistcoat. It looks like the ones that you would see evil scientists wearing in old movies.

"A little," I reply. The strange pins and needles feeling won't leave.

"Could you elaborate for me?" He presses.

"It feels like pins and needles all over my body," I explain.

"That's normal. You've been in a coma for nearly two weeks now, so your blood pressure is going to be trying to get back to normal." Victor tells me, but writes down what I said anyway.

"In a coma?!" I repeat, looking back at my sister and father. They both nod in response, sadness evident on their faces.

"What is your name?" Victor questions. I know what he is checking for. Brain trauma. Like I have anything like that! Hmph. Besides, he just said my name a few seconds ago when he came in! This guy must be an idiot. He's probably the one with a brain trauma, not me.

But I answer anyway.

"Squidward Tentacles."

"Who is the current King or Queen of Bikini Bottom?" Victor continues as he scribbles my previous response on the paper. The answer to this question is also very obvious!

"King Neptune," I say without hesitation.

I see his expression change from neutral to a Something-Might-Not-Be-Right look. Still, he writes down what I said. "What year is it?" He inquires. I don't know why, but he looks a bit tense, waiting for my answer.

"Duhh! 2015." I respond.

"Squidward, I don't know how to tell you this, but. . .it's 2018." Victor studies me for my reaction. I stare back at him blankly. How can it be 2018? That means. . .I can't remember three years of my life. Three entire years. I quickly do the math in my head. That is 1095 days of my life that I can't remember.

A/N: I had to use a calculator for that. You're welcome. As for Squidward. . . I guess that he's good at quick maths?

"What does that mean, Victor?" Squidette asks hesitantly.

"He might have amnesia. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to prepare myself for an MRI." Victor abruptly stands up, leaving me and my two family members alone in the room.

"How the hell did I end up in a coma?!" I demand, my voice dangerously low. They had better tell me what is going on.

"You were in a boating accident," Dad explains slowly. He's an octopus too and he looks almost identical to me, except he is older with a moustache and fancy clothes that I could never afford. I pause for a second. A boating accident?! I don't even own a boat! I travel everywhere by foot. What did my past self get himself into?!

"Hmmm." I muse quietly to myself. Something else is weird about this situation. "Why do I feel like someone else should be here?" I try to think of who, besides the obvious (my mother) could be missing.

"Mum isn't here. She'll visit soon, though, I promise." Squidette answers right away.

"No, no, I feel like someone is missing other than her. Someone very important." I try to explain. It sounds extremely dumb, I know. Maybe I should just shut up.

My father and Squidette share a glance that obviously means something.

"That doesn't matter, Squiddy. Just go back to sleep." Squidette urges. She's clearly avoiding the question. I want to protest, but my body is just too tired, and I quickly fall into the warm comfort of sleep.
