Connor let out his monotone sigh. Of course Androids had no need to actually breathe, but when Cyberlife said they'd make sure they mimic even the most minute details of human nature, they sure weren't holding back.

Hank and him had been tracking down a fresh Deviant case, with a little "encouragement" of Hank's employer. Connor could sense just how reluctantly Hank was working with him, but they needed to get the job done so he didn't think much of it.

"Lieutenant, I have discovered that you do not seem to enjoy my presence much" Connor told Hank, who had just taken a deep pull from his cigarette before crushing it under his shoe.

"Oh really Connor. Need all that fancy tech to figure that out?" He muttered sarcastically as he took a deep breath and pulled out his pistol, waiting at the door. They wanted to surprise the deviant so breaking down the door would be a bad approach.

Instead, Connor kneeled down in front of the door and used a lockpick to open the door. The door opened into an empty room, it was dark and damp, as if the place haven't been aired in ages.

Not much of a surprise considering that Androids don't care much for lack of fresh air.

"I am detecting no other signals, Android or deviant. It seems that our deviant knew we were coming, Lieutenant" Connor reported as he walked through the room in a slow, methodical way, earning another annoyed sigh from Hank.

"Again, would you fucking stop with pointing out the obvious..." Hank grumbled as he kicked aside a loose board, before seeing that there was a hollow space beneath it...

---------------------------------------------------------

Todd enjoyed having his hands around her throat. Even if Androids didn't feel pain, he enjoyed the power it let him feel. The control.

Kara knew that Todd was in one of his moods again. His Red Ice had finished and he needed to take it out on someone. Of course, as she is the only one in the house, he decided that she would be excellent for the job.

"You ruin everything, I've seen the way you look at me. Todd is a lost cause. Todd is a FUCKING LOOSER" he yelled as he punched Kara in the stomach and tightened his grip.

Every day that passed, the beatings got worse and worse and for the first time since she was activated, Kara felt.....scared

Scared she might get destroyed, scared she might DIE. She whimpered as she looked into Todd's eyes, trying to pry his hands away from her throat.

"You fucking bitch think you can walk into my life and RESIST ME? YOU ARE A MACHINE, SO OBEY" he shouted as he smashed her head against the window, breaking it. But with more force than he mean to...

Kara felt her body weightless, the wind rushing past her ears as the ground began to get closer, the rain soaking her clothes.

Kara actually screamed for the first time in her life, and she was certain of one thing as her LED glowed red

"I don't want to die.."

---------------------------------------------------------

"FUCK, he got away" Hank hissed as he went back upstairs out of the hole he crawled into earlier and he slammed the board back down, sighing as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Do not worry Lieutenant, we will catch him" Connor whispered with a comforting nod as he put his hand on Hank's shouoder, giving it a light pat.

Hank looked at Connor and a smirk spread on his face, a dry chuckle escaping him. "I didn't know Androids could be optimistic" he said as he brushed Connors hand off his shoulder and walked of out the house.

Connor was following suit as he heard a loud THUMP at the house next to him. His LED glowed yellow, and he looked over to Hank who was waiting at his car.

"Lieutenant, I will investigate the noise. It may provide a lead to our Deviant" Connor said with a curt nod and began walking to Todd's house. Hank was about to stop him but he knew that he could handle himself. He crossed his arms and leaned against the car, waiting for his partner.

---------------------------------------------------------

Kara was alive, but as her diagnostic routine told her, she was badly damaged and loosing blood. The blue synthetic compound soaked into the grass, washed onto the pavement by the rain.

Connor stopped walking as he noticed the blue stream flow in front of his shoes and he looked to the side. He saw...a female android, wearing maid clothing. She had blonde hair and blue eyes, which were filled with....fear. She was a deviant, and Connor was programmed to hunt them down. Knowing what the noise was, he turned around to leave but he felt her hand grab his leg.

"Please... don't...I don't want to die" she whimpered as her voice was distorted, probably due to a damaged voice box. Connor looked down at her, his gaze unchanging.

"Please release my leg" Connor said as he tried to pry her hands off but her grip was already weakening. He began to walk away but... something was bothering him. He wasn't...programmed to care for other Androids as it would make him biased in his mission.

Connor's LED flashed red for a few seconds before he turned back to Hank, yelling at him to get over to the dying Kara.

"Holy...shit.." Hank gasped as he arrived, looking at the broken body of Kara. Normally he wouldn't care about Androids but... seeing her lying here in her blood, the fear in her eyes..

He sighed as he picked her up and began walking back to the car, much to the surprise of Connor.

"Lieutenant, am I wrong to assume that you said you hate Androids?" Connor questioned as he walked beside Hank, waiting as he gently put Kara on the back seat of his car.

Hank looked at Connor, his face lit up by the dashboard of his car.

"You ain't wrong. But this...
This ain't just any other Android"
