AN: Anno, just updating some of the older stuff but welcome to my story, don't mind the janitor (me) as he cleans.

The sun peeked slowly from the clouds as if hesitating.
A soft pair of blue eyes slowly opened, they flickered for a moment with recognition before they closed again in a rush. The owner groaned as he held a hand to his head.
For most of his life Clay Jensen had been a normal boy, and even now he was. It was week one of the the new school year and so far everything in his life had going great.
However things haven't always been that way. Clay's freshmen year was one out a horror novel.
The entire jock populace always looked for the timid and weakest to pray on, it just so happened that Clay was one of the few who wouldn't stand up for himself. To Clay, in more ways then one he was a coward and if he spoke jock then a pussy.
Clay snorted, throwing his feet over his bed. To the jocks it was a evening of fun, something that made there day, to Clay, it was a cruel punishment he didn't know why he deserved.
The mental and physical abuse had major ramifications for him and there weren't pretty.
Clay was forced to withdraw back into a mental shell, it only got worse when he wouldn't scream from any of the torture the Jocks decided on that day. It led Clay down a dark road, where he was at a all time low, nothing seemed bright, not even the sun seemed bright to him.
After a particularly nasty day that left him a painful laceration on his forehead he lost it. He started throwing things around his room, threw his phone against the wall and punched it for good measure. While throwing his backpack against the wall he punched, a pencil sharpener had fallen out.
It all went downhill after he started self-harming, Justin Foley and his posse were always the main bullies that targeted him, he was the one who 'accidentally' pushed Clay headfirst into a mirror, giving him that laceration. After having found out that 'Jensen' had been hurting himself, he dragged Clay out into the busy hallway and shown everyone.
That was probably the worst day of Clay's life, he always wore his hoodie after that, always.
His freshmen year wasn't all bleak though, Jeff Atkins and Tony Padilla. They were two rays of sunlight in his otherwise dimmed world, Jeff having saved him from Justin and Tony when Montgomery De La Cruz who were both harassing him. Clay did eventually stop hurting himself thanks to the combined efforts of Tony and Jeff, they were really the best friends he could've asked for.
After, majority of the school had left him alone after they found out about his self harming. Clay flinched, that word always left him feeling so hollow. He never spoke about it to anyone, mostly because he was afraid of reopening old scars. Justin even stopped bullying him as much, Clay thinks Zack Dempsey had a role in that.
Zack might've been in Justin's posse, but he never liked unnecessarily hurting people. It didn't excuse him though, he watched thus was an enabler. Clay knew he had a good heart somewhere, he would talk to the boy if he wasn't always surrounded by Justin and the rest of the boys.
School passed easily enough after that, Clay uses the word easily loosely, even though the entire school wasn't after his head he still had people push him down in the hall, or had his stuff stolen repeatedly.
The rumors of him being gay didn't stop, in fact were spread relentlessly around, and it didn't stop for the entire year, even going into this year he wasn't sure if it had fully died down. He was almost certain there was some people who still believed he was gay, but they never openly taunted him for it.
