I stood with Amanda in the hallway as Spock was pacing. Today was an important day for Spock, as he will learn if he will be accepted into Vulcan Academy or not. I knew he had also applied for Star Fleet as well, for a 'Logical' purpose. I call it a back up plan. I was doing thinking for my self. What would I do if Spock went to Star Fleet Academy? What if he didn't? What would I do? I was thinking of joining star fleet if he did, or become a diplomatic personal if he went to Vulcan Academy.
I watched Spock pace as I fiddled with my head scarf, something to use to protect my skin from becoming burnt. I had picked up many Vulcan traits of my time here on Vulcan, but when I am nervous or anxious, I fiddle with something in my hands.
"Spock, come here. Let me see you." Amanda said to Spock.
"No." He replied.
"Spock. Come. Please." I asked, knowing he would not resist both of us.
Amanda slightly smiled slighty at me as Spock came over. I moved closer to the door that he would be going though, knowing that he would want to speak to his mother in private. I knew he would speak to me after. I had a feeling of what that conversation will be. He worries that we will take judgement if he completes the Vulcan Discipline of Kolinahr. He still cares wither he agrees or not. I already knew my answer. What ever he choose, I would follow behind.
I saw Spock coming over to me after speaking to his mother for a moment. He watched him walk towards me before smiling at me and nodding her head. We have had many conversations about being Human and being mated to a Vulcan. What ever he choose, I would follow behind him without a second thought.
"Spock" I said, giving a small smile. "Thesally." He said standing for a moment, before taking my hands into his.
"May I ask a personal query?" He asked me. He was really was nervous.
"Of course Spock. Anything." I grabbed his hands into my small hands so that he knew that my answer would be truthful.
"Should I choose to complete the Vulcan discipline of Kolinahr, and purge all emotion, I trust, you will not feel it reflects judgment upon you" He said looking to the ground for a moment. He really did care what I thought.
"Oh, Spock. As always, whatever you choose to be, what ever you choose to do, you know I will be behind you." I said, raising my hand to his face, raising his eyes to meet mine. "Spock, as your mate, I would care less if you became illogical and purple and with three eyes, six ears, and seven hands."
"That is illogical. Once can not-" "Spock. It's not real. I know you can't turn purple, grow three eyes and seven hands. My point is that I love you, and I will follow behind you. Now. You must not keep the Council waiting." I said, running my hand over his uniform, removing all the invisible wrinkles.
"I wish for you to accompany me into the the council. This effects your life as mine. It is only fair that you are there."
I smiled and nodded. I knew he wanted me there to ground him. He would never admit it but I knew. I squared my shoulders before I fell in behind him. I erased my face of all emotion.
I Stood behind Spock with the council looking down. He looked up as I looked at him, then the council, hoping I would be able to tell their answer before they say, and of course, I was unable to read them. I decided to focus as being Vulcan like as my human illogicality will allow.
We stood in silence for a half a heart beat before the Minister spoke up. "You have surpassed the expectations of your instructors. Your final record is flawless. With one exception, I see that you have applied to Starfleet as well."
Spock replied without even thinking. "It was logical to cultivate multiple options." He looked back at me for a brief second, before he turned back.
The Minister thought of Spock's response for a moment. "Logical but unnecessary. You're hereby accepted to the Vulcan Science Academy. It is truly remarkable, Spock, that you have achieved so much, despite your disadvantage. All rise!"
Everyone on the Council stood as I thought for a moment. Disadvantage? He was the top of his class. They weren't referring to.........
Spock must of thought of the same thing. "If you would clarify, Minister. To what disadvantage are you referring?"
"Your Human mother and your human mate."
So they are throwing that card. Spock looked back to me. He seemed to be deciding on what to do. Normally he brushes those things off, but I could see a glint in his eye.
"Council, Ministers, I must decline." Spock said looking around. I looked in shocked. He was turning this down?
"No Vulcan has ever declined admission to this academy." The Minister said, his voice raising. Uh oh. This was going to end in two ways.
"Then, as I am half-human, your record remains untarnished." Spock said bringing his hands behind his back, He beckoned me closer. I move to be right behind him. He reached his hand into mine. I guess he could sense my worry.
"Spock. You have made a commitment to honor the Vulcan way. " Sarek said, standing up.
"Why did you come before this council today? You brought your mate in. Was it to satisfy your emotional need to rebel?" the minister said to Spock.
Spock retaliated quickly. "The only emotion I wish to convey is gratitude. Thank you, Ministers, for your consideration. Live long and prosper." A smile formed as he lead me out.
We didn't even make it to the doors before the familiar feeling of a vision happened.
Romulans. Romulans attacking Vulcan. Buildings coming down. Amanda falling. I felt fear, devistation, sorrow, I felt everything.
"Thesally!" I was coming back to the present. Sarek and Spock where the ones holding me. "What did you see?"
"Romulans attacking Vulcan. Vulcan falling to pieces. Amanda..........there was devastation, sorrow, fear." I turned to Sarek. "Don't let Amanda out of your sight. Do not leave her alone. I do not know when this will happen, nor do I know how, or why, but it will happen in the future." I said.
I don't often see the future, But the few times I had, they have come true. When I give a warning, human or not, the High Council listens to me. My mind was running on over time. Migraine moved in. I put my hands to support my head. "Do you have an Idea when?" "Six years possibly, maybe eight."Speaking became hard.
"We must get her back to the house. medical will be there when we arrive." Spock easily picked me up and carried me as if I was nothing. I closed my eyes and blocked out the once warm bright sun that now felt like hot ripping pain in my head and mind. My head hurt so much, I lost my vision and hearing. "Sarek?" the voice of Amanda was the last thing I heard.
