Erwin x Reader Part 2

Start from the beginning

Erwins' body froze as cadets who were tending to the injured and wrapping the deceased stopped in their tracks. Erwin slowly started towards you as you laid still.

Hanji and Levi called on their Squads to start leading the cadets out of the room. Each cadet left without a single word as Erwin kneeled down next to you. Tears started to form in his eyes as he laid his hands gently on your shoulders.

"(Y-Y/N)," Erwin spoke shaking you slightly. "Come on, (Y/N), this isn't funny," the blonde whispered as he gripped your shoulders tighter.

"Erwin," Hanji spoke, voice cracking as she took a step forward.

"Please! (Y/N)!" Levi walked over to the blonde, placing a hand on his shoulder, trying to pry him away.

"Erwin," the black haired man spoke as tears fell from Erwins' eyes. "Erwin, she's gone," he added in a saddened tone, looking down at your lifeless body. A Titan had taken a bite from the side of your stomach. There was no way you could have survived.

"H-how?" Erwin spoke, his voice shaky as Hanji frowned.

"We don't know," she answered as Erwin reached to the pocket over your breast. His fingers ran over the crest on your chest and quickly he pulled it from your clothing.

"You promised," Erwin whispered as Hanji and Levi slowly left the room. Erwin pulled your lifeless body onto his own and kissed your forehead. Tears streamed down his face heavily and, for months after your passing, Erwin still cried himself to sleep at night.

No one took your death well. Your family held a ceremony for you, though your body had already been burned with the other cadets who perished. Erwin, Hanji and Levi were invited to the ceremony and, gratefully, they accepted the invitation.

Nile, Marie and their child also attended the funeral. Marie comforted her crying husband while Erwin stood with a brave face. Your brother stood next to the blonde haired man, his eyes trained on the memorial stone they had for you.

The ceremony didn't last long, Levi and Hanji were to head straight back to the barracks of the Survey Corps. However, Erwin was invited to Niles' home. Upon entering, Marie took their child and left for the childs' room.

As soon as Marie was out of earshot and eyesight Erwin crumbled to the ground. His hands flew to his hair as tears started to form in his eyes. Nile sat next to the blonde, as he sobbed, trying to control his emotions.

"You know she loved you, right?" Nile questioned as he looked at his friend.

"I know... she told me," Erwin answered with a shaky voice. "She told me... Nile she knew... she knew something would go wrong. Why... why wouldn't she tell me?" Erwin begged for an answer, something, anything that he could use to make sense that you were really gone.

"Erwin, she was ready to lay down her life," the black haired man stated as he placed a soft hand on the mans' shoulder.

"I could have saved her if she said something!" the blonde yelled, his eyes turning into a glare. Nile smirked slightly.

"Then you and I both know that she would have blamed herself if someone else died in her place," he replied. Erwin gritted his teeth, he knew his friend was right but that didn't stop him from regretting his formation decision.

Nile sighed, standing to his feet he walked to the kitchen to make some tea. Erwin sat on the floor in front of the door. He couldn't remember how long he was there for, but it was a while before he moved.

Erwin had lost you... it was his fault you were gone and your death was the one death he would always, always personally hold himself responsible for.

"Erwin don't do this," you begged, tears slipping from your eyes as you looked at the blonde. Erwin glared at the large Beast Titan that was standing on the wall of Shiganisha.

"Retake the wall!" Erwin ordered as he charged forward with a large group of cadets. You stood on the battlefield with a saddened and terrified expression.

The Beast Titan picked up multiple rocks, throwing them at the cadets as you stood and watched, helpless. Your eyes trained on Erwin as his body was battered with the fast moving objects.

Blood started to pool from his body as the rocks opened up multiple wounds. You felt tears start to stream down your (S/C) cheeks as you slowly walked over to the unconscious blonde.

A cadet rushed over to him, taking the unconscious man from the battlefield and rushing towards where Levi was. You sniffed slightly, watching in sorrow as Levi argued with Eren about who should get something called 'Titan Serum' injected into them.

In the end, Levi decided on someone by the name of Armin. You gave a sad, gentle smile and made your way towards Erwins' lifeless body.

"Idiot... you weren't supposed to die," you whispered with a choked laugh.

"(Y/N)?" you spun on your heel at the sound of Erwins' voice and gave a sad smile. His blue eyes widened in shock as he looked at you. You were there, right in front of him... you were there!

"Erwin," you wiped your eyes dry and smiled a little more lively. "You idiot, you weren't supposed to die," you whispered walking over to the blonde and wrapping your arms around his neck.

"Are you... real?" Erwin asked, his tone begging. He wanted you to be real oh so much. He wasn't unaware of the breakdowns he had been having since you had died. He had been seeing you everywhere and he knew it.

"Well... as real as I can be," you whispered in Erwins' ear as his arms instantly went around your waist. You smiled into the blondes' shoulder as you pulled away from him.

Erwin quickly placed a hand on the back of your head and pressed his lips harshly against yours. You yelped in surprise and quickly pulled away, unable to hide the laughter that bubbled up inside your stomach.

Erwin gave you a confused look as you grinned at the blonde. Oh, how he had missed that grin.

"(Y/N)," the blonde whispered. "I love you," he spoke with a tone of confidence. The words made you smile widely as you planted a gentle kiss of Erwins' lips.

"And I you, Erwin," you replied and took his hand.

Finally, the two of you were reunited and neither of you could ask for anything better.
