Chapter 1 ~Georgia Thompson

Hello. My name is Georgia Thompson but you can call me Gigi. That's what all my friends call me, well used to. I am 18 years old and enjoy swimming and listening to music. My Dad says that at times I can be a bit impatient, but am still sweet and kind. I am tall with bronze skin, blonde hair and green eyes. I grew up in a working-class neighbourhood. I am raised by my dad because my mother left when I was young. I go to Bessie Street School, with my best friend Kevia Smith, otherwise known as Smithy. As my dad would say we are inseparable. I also used to hang out with Scarlett Barker, Fannie Day, Sophie Brown (Saffi), Chloe Martin, Rebecca Scott (Becca), Eleanor Turner (Leora), Max Nelson, Alex Wright (Lexi) and Archie Woodward, also known as the Cool Kid group. We all used to be super close and everyone but Max and Archie played on the girl's ringette team. Our team Captain was Scarlett Barker, also the leader of the Cool Kids group. She is a fantastic coach, but you have to be literally perfect to make her ringette team. You're probably wondering why I am using all this past tense.

I have REM.

It's a sleep behaviour disorder which causes me to act out in my sleep. I and my dad had managed to keep it a secret until two weeks ago. My friends decided it was time for a sleepover at my house.........
