“Hey Caroline, can you promise me that we won’t ever be apart from each other,” I asked while playing with her hair. She turned around and smiled “Only if you promise to stay my best friend forever and be my girlfriend when we are older”. I tried to act like I had to think really hard about my answer. After a couple of seconds I finally hold out my pinky and say “pinky promise”,she looks at it for a couple of seconds as if trying to decide. “Pinky promise” she states confidently.

So much for that promise,I sigh looking at my pillow. I don't know if we will even recognize each other because it has been about five years. Why did we have to move? I was suddenly broken out of my thoughts when my mom called by name “Conner”,” yeah mom” “time to go to school” as soon as she said that I was out the door.
The bus was pretty uneventful,people were just rude. As soon as we got to school I went to the office and to get a map,but it didn't help whatsoever. So after trying to find someone to help I see another kid who looks like someone that I've seen before. “Um… hi I'm Connor I'm a bit lost can you help me get to Mrs.Iris’s class. " They just got out a small notebook just started to write something down and gave me the note then they began to walk towards the 6th grade building. They stopped and waited for me to follow so I just did.
When we got to the classroom looked at my direction,it was weird so I read the note it said follow me. So I followed them.
When we got to the classroom we had just enough time to get to our seats, I sit next to the kid because it's the only seat in the darkest part of the room. Mrs Iris went up to the front of the room and said “I hope you enjoy your current seats because that is where you will sit for the rest of the year.” For the next couple of minutes it sounded like a room full of zombies,instead of students.
After that school was just boring,so i decided to write a note to mystery kid. Hey kid thanks for helping me get to class,you haven't told me your name. I passed them the note and after a few minutes they gave me a note,I don't tell people my name so you can call me Roman. I wrote back immediately ,I think instead I'll call you princey. That's how school went for the rest of the day until 6th period I wrote her a note still but it said can I get your phone number? They gave it to me, and I was overjoyed. I didn't expect to actually get it.
As soon as I got home I texted them,
Conner: is this you princey
I was getting nervous it had been 20 minutes they hadn't answered test. Than there was a text.
Princey: yes it’s me.
I felt a wave of relief wash over me,and we continued to text the rest of the night.

For the next few months we texted a lot more than friends should. So the next afternoon I told pricey to come to the park than after to my house, but they texted that we should go to her house instead. So when we got to the park we went to a bench I had them sit down I got on one knee and pulled out the plastic ring and said “will you please be my girlfriend”, she looked shocked and nodded. After the excitement of that we headed over to her house.
Their house is massive and it's like a mansion, there are white pillars. It's like a better version of batman's mansion.
When we got inside their mom just looked at me and said to them “so you found Jessie again after all these years." I did not just hear that correctly because the only ones here that know my dead name are mom and…… "Car-Caroline” she looked at me funny than it was as if everything had just clicked in their mind. Their eyes began to water and she was smiling,we just hugged for what seemed like forever. “See I always keep my Promises” I told her through a lot of tears.

*twenty years later
“And that is how I ended up finding my wife,the end” I had just finished reading the story to Cassie and as if on schedule she says “ sing your and Mommy's song” OK but than straight to bed” “k daddy Right than Caroline came in the room and said “I'm ready for the song” Cassie was all snuggled up in bed so we began to sing. “Wise man say...only fools rush in…but I can't help falling in love with you I looked at Cassie and saw she was almost asleep so we sang the last line as we turned of the light.
