This is book 2 of the impossible assignment series and book 3 of the elemental series. You should read those first to help you understand what's going on
Deedees POV
I sat by the ocean not wanting to go back after what had happened. I needed time to think about things. I looked up and saw a plastic bottle in the water floating a bit. I watched it and waited for it to come to me. Once it did I picked it up. It had paper inside. 'That's weird' I thought taking the lid off. I tried to get the paper out but my hand couldn't fit through the small opening so after a few tries I stuck two fingers in and pinched the paper to pull it out. It worked. I unfolded the paper and saw some writing. It wasn't the type of writing that nightmaremoon had taught me. It was different. Like the type written on the walls of my room. it said:

At the bottom of the note there were coordinates of where to go. The writing was messy but I could still read it. the symptoms that were being described were the same as that of being exposed to raw, unprotected elfro! I wanted to help whoever wrote this but I had no idea how to get to this place. I needed help.
I raced back home as fast as I could brushing against a few trees. This message seemed very important. I burst through the doors "I found a note" I said breathlessly "it's from Australia!" "Let me see that" said Roxy taking it from my hand. Roxy and sparky looked at the paper "its just a bunch of scribble" said Roxy "oooh can I see" said sunny taking a look. And sure enough she too was just as confused. "Someone who's world has been corrupted by raw elfro has wrote this and they need our help. "Is Australia another island" sparky asked "I'm pretty sure" I replied "What's that?" Sunny asked pointing to the plastic bottle I still had clutched in my hand. "It's what the message traveled in. here" I said giving it to sunny. She looked at it closely "It's like glass..." she said. Then she squeezed it and it crackled and bent under her grip "it's squishy" she giggled playing with it. Roxy then took the bottle off of her and twisted the lid on and off. "This bit stops water from getting in, I think" Roxy told sunny pointing to the lid. While the two were playing with the plastic bottle sparky handed the note back to me being very careful not accidentally to burn it "you should reply to this person on the back of the paper" she told me "But What should I say?" I asked "Tell this person that we will try to help them in any way possible and Maybe a brief summary on what's going on" sparky explained "Ok then" I said. To write a reply I needed darkened water but since nightmaremoon died, it will be harder to obtain. I would need to find a dark elemental to trade With. I picked three fruits and a bowl of water. My only concern was what if Roxy was right about all dark elementals being power Hungry war machines. They probably weren't since she has never met any apart from nightmaremoon but Sevorus kroin was a horrible person. But he's only one person... the rest might be ok people. 'I'm not sure what to think, but i guess I will find out soon enough' I thought stepping outside and walking straight into the woods drawing my hood up and using my power to make myself invisible. The sun was setting making the trees cast long shadows everywhere. soon I heard voices. I followed them until I saw three people standing in a small clearing "what are we going to do about him?" Said one of them "If we even do somehow win we too would eventually be defeated" another one said "We could get other elementals involved." Said the first one "They probably would ignore our request, or hate us for having this element or both!" The third one replied "It feels like no matter what good we do, even if we try to change our ways, others will still hold a grudge against us for things that didn't even involve them." The second one said "Well... they did have to adopt all the children who we didn't want" the third one added. Then I made myself visible and stepped out into the clearing. "Friend Or Foe" they shouted in unison drawing and pointing their swords at me "Friend" I replied "I just want to make a trade with you, if you can turn this water dark for me" I said holding up the bowl of water in one hand. Then I will give you these fruits I said holding the three fruits in my other hand. They stared at the fruit, eyes widening in amazement. Then they started whispering to each other. They were not at all good at whispering. "Should we kill him and take the fruit" the third one said "No" said the first one "if we want others to accept us then we need to stop killing, and besides once we eat the fruit we will have our elements back and changing the water should be easy" "Then we can overthrow sevorus and rule" the third one concluded. "good idea but how can we trust him" the second one added "we don't even know what element he has" he glanced at me. I saw this and quickly used my power to hide my purple glowing eyes from their vision. "He's either a water, nature or dark elemental" "Nah, he dosent look like any of them" the third one said "He could be any elemental, he's just hiding from us because were monsters" the first one said his voice breaking "Well... if we want to be better people than this is where we start" the second one said confidently. "we accept" said the second one. I tossed them the fruit. They stared at it eyes wide before gnawing hungrily. "Woah!" said the third one "I have never tasted anything like this in my life!" "And now for the water" said the first one. He took a step forward and hesitated. He turned back to the others "how do I do it?" He asked them "Just do it like you see the kings and queens do it" the third one said with his mouth full "Ok..." the first one said putting his hand in the water and screwing his eyes up in concentration. After a few tries the water begins turn black like a drop of black food colouring was added spreading out like smoke until the water was completely black.
When I got back home I raced to the library as fast as I could go without making the water splash over the edge of the bowl and stain the teal carpet black. I grabbed the empty writing cylinder off the table and poured some dark water inside then I pulled out the note and flipped it over to its blank side and wrote:

I looked at my work with pride. Then I looked down at the numbers at the bottom. They seemed like they would be useful so I copied them down onto another piece of paper And put it into one of the many pockets in my cloak. I wished to explain to the people who wrote this note about elfro but there wasn't enough room for more writing to fit. I walked out of the library with the note clutched tightly in one hand "where's the bottle?" I asked sparky. she jestured with her head in the direction of Sunny's balcony where Roxy and sunny were at. They were each grabbing one end of the bottle tugging furiously in an attempt to obtain it. "It's... mine..." said Roxy through gritted teeth. "But I want it more" snapped sunny her eyes screwed up in concentration. Roxy being twice as old as sunny was clearly winning. She was almost dragging sunny across the metal floor. Sunny then opened her eyes and used her element to make them flash brighter than they already were. "Argh" muttered Roxy screwing up her eyes and letting go of the bottle in suprise. But Sunny's plan backfired. When Roxy let go she fell backwards and stumbled over her balcony landing in the garden on her back. Luckily all the plant life broke her fall. She held up the bottle triumphantly in one hand proud of her achievement grinning at Roxy who was rubbing her eyes and scowling. "Hey sunny, I need that back" I said. Sunny's smile faded but she obliged tossing it over. Her aim wasn't good since she was still lying on her back but I still managed to catch it. "Thanks" i said putting the note in it before making my way over to the ocean. When I got there I placed the bottle down in the ocean but it got pushed back by the water. I tried again but the waves pushed it back again. I glanced around to see if there were any water elementals controlling the water. I saw no one. I then ditched the bottle as far as I could so it would go behind the waves rhythm. It didn't come back. Satisfied, I walked back home still wondering about this strange world and how we would ever get there.
