De-Bugging Another World

VOL.2 Chapter 3: A bit to sentient for a snake.

"Ain't happ'nin'!" Kanrish bellowed while rushing from his hiding place and firing a burst of shots into the {fireball}.

With several shots he drew the beast's attention as its spell exploded halfway to the target.

"Yhou... yhou dare interfhere when Khundahl ish punhishingh theshe inhvadersh!" The beast shouted as Kanrish aimed his weapon and released another burst of fire.

With surprising agility the snake dodged his attacks and its humanoid face contorted in pure rage as it reared its head before vomiting a spray of putrid acid Kanrish's way.

"{Shadow Sprint}"

With a blur of shadows he dodged the acid while closing the gap with his opponent.

Snake or not, this thing is surprisingly intelligent.

The thought briefly crossed Kanrish' mind, but he had no time to devote to petty thoughts like that.

The rifle's barrel suddenly pressed against the snake's lower jaw it reeled again before a full-auto volley of magical bullets sprayed through the beast's head as it went limp.

"Wh-who are you... to take down one of the Naga so easily..." The woman asked shocked while her remaining guards took stances to protect her

"I'm Kanrish just a traveler on his way to the Northern Cardinal Tree with my family." He spoke and the guards gasped in shock as he released the magic of his weapon.

With the sound of shattering glass, the rifle vanished and Kanrish returned his attention to the woman and her guards.

"I take it that snake was what caused this unfortuna-..." As Kanrish was about to ask the sight of twenty-five mauled, burnt and destroyed corpses along with the disgusting smell of blood and gore, settled into his mind and he began gagging several times.

"Are you alright?!" The woman had collapsed shortly after Kanrish came to realize the gore around him.

While throwing up himself, he had sent a message to Misuki to bring Lyya along so they could provide the woman the option of traveling with them to the Northern Capital.

But Lyya had turned immediately to provide first aid to the collapsed human woman with her guards on edge after seeing a stranger take out the snake.

"Wh-where am I?" The woman, somewhere in her late twenties asked confused while Lyya had been trying to get her back to consciousness.

"What happened here, Kanrish Baby what the hell did you do to this place?" Lyya asked while helping the woman and her guards out of the gruesome clearing.

"Is he with you?" One of the guards asked and both Lyya and Misuki echoed their reply.

" "We're betrothed to him." "

While they made their way to the carriage, still being protected by Akane and Aelanna, Kanrish was the first to show his face and keep the two from attacking.

"We have some guests." He spoke as the others stepped into view and Akane leapt forward and shouted in relief.

"Neechan!" While flying around her sister's neck the twins gave a quick greeting and soon it was revealed that he had just defeated a Naga.

" " "What?!" " " The two dark elves and the harpy shouted as they heard he had eliminated a Naga on his own where twenty-five seasoned soldiers could not do a thing.

"Well let me be the first to say, thank you for saving me and my guards. My name is Pharana Alpenwood; I am the heiress to the Alpenwood house in the Eastern Capital."
