Chapter 13: The Rescue

"Do you like Erin?" Steve turned towards Dustin, but still keeping an eye on the road.

"What?" Dustin pretended he didn't know what Steve was asking.

"Do you like Erin or not?" Steve questioned.

"We're in the middle of a crisis right now and you're asking that?" Dustin asked.

"I know, but do you like her or not?" Steve turned back towards the road.

"Maybe a little." Dustin muttered under his breath.

"Aww." Nancy said from the back.

"Dustin has a cru-ush." Lucas teased.

"Says the guy with a girlfriend." Dustin rolled his eyes.

"Don't tell me you're in love with her." Steve looked at him.

"I'm not in love with her!" Dustin pleaded.

"We're here!" Nancy exclaimed, Steve slamming on the breaks. He pulled into parking lot of the middle school, realizing that they were getting deicing salt. "Deicing salt? Would that work?" Steve asked, climbing out of the car.

"We've done it before." Dustin shrugged, heading in.

"Guys," Cassidy spoke up, while they were sneaking into the lab.

"What?" El turned towards Cassidy.

"I can read everyone's thoughts." Cassidy panicked.

"I wonder if that's because-" Kali started.

"Twin telepathy? And then I wonder if Erin has-" Cassidy cut her off.

"Telekinesis," Max stated, cutting Erin off. "I don't think they need our help if Erin has telekinesis."

"Look at all the guards," Joyce pointed. "They're gonna need help."

"Joyce is right, not even Jane could stop them all." Kali nodded.

"Alright, well," Cassidy paused. "Lets go kick some ass."

The girls all continued walking, ducking under the gate. They walked into the parkinglot, noticing the very many guards that were still left outside. Max went first, swinging the bad off her shoulder.

"Get lost little girl, the facility is closed." One of the guards spoke.

"Little girl? I'm fourteen," Max stated, right before someone melted all of the guards' brains. "Dammit Cassidy, I wanted to swing."

"That actually wasn't me." Cassidy looked, at El.

"Not me." Eleven shrugged.

"Erin." Kali realized.

"Right here." Erin walked out of the lab, Hopper behind her.

"How did you-" Max asked, walking towards her.

"Kill all the guards? I don't even know that." Erin shrugged.

"I mean, I could probably do that." Cassidy shrugged.

"Eleven too." Erin smiled, hugging her sister.

"I'm so glad you're safe." Cassidy hugged her back, smiling.

"Don't forget about me." Max smiled.

"Awe, you're going soft." Erin chuckled, hugging her.

"Long time no see." Joyce hugged Hopper, Erin and Cassidy didn't even have to read their minds to know what was going on between them.
