Wolves. Beautiful, majestic creatures. Pure of heart, dedicated, and selfless. Leaders. Humans. Intelligent, forceful, slightly ignorant creatures. Have hard times to see what's right, but compassionate. Leaders. So if we really looked at the difference, we're quite alike. However, most people don't see it that way, and that's why I'm an outcast. I'm a werewolf. No, not the cruel kind in movies and the ones that grow fur in the TV shows. I'm just half wolf, more on the inside I suppose. All except I have two big pricked up wolf ears at the top of my head and a furry tail. I also have wolf senses. I can see pretty far, but in some different colours than humans I'm been told. My hearing though is excellent! I can hear well up to a frequency of twenty-five kilohertz! I can hear someone coming from miles away, and I can sense if they are friends, or foes. My smelling is phenomenal! I can smell from miles away, especially when there is blood or meat. I just say that because those two things have very strong scents, like my aunt too. Although I have a normal human nose, it works just like a real wolf nose does. Everything else about my is pretty human. My beautiful wavy hair that down a little past my shoulders, my little toes, my short nails, and my teeth. Of course, I can't really be a vegetarian, I have to eat meat at least once a day, or I'm not getting enough nutrition. I have two intense black eyes, black as the midnight sky. I live in a small neighbour hood of normal people in a normal house with my parents and my little ten-year-old brother Harry. Harry is also a werewolf, exactly like me, however our parents are not. For some strange reason our known ancestry has all been pure humans, but I guess somewhere deep in the timeline there must have been a werewolf somewhere, we haven't been adopted. Trust me, I know. We couldn't have doctors freak out over our birth so we were delivered at home by our parents' friends who happen to be specializing in this sort of thing. Anyway, for that reason our parents also didn't want anybody ever to know about us because they were afraid that we would get judged, or bullied, or maybe even killed! So we never came out of the house into the town, and we didn't go to regular school with all the other kids. We were homeschooled, and the only time we went outside was to play outside in our enormous backyard. Our backyard flowed into the forest, where we were allowed to go. I really like it there. Sometimes, when I run really fast, my hearts starts beating quicker and I start running eve faster, especially when I'm chasing something. Tag is my all time favourite game, next to hide and seek. Hide and seek is easy when you have a nose like mine, and you can hear the tiniest sounds. In my spare time, which I have plenty of, I like to sit and read or practice playing the piano. I am like Beethoven! I'm that good! Strangely, we have a cat named Rocket as a pet. Don't ask me why. I could gladly live without him. He is so annoying and he doesn't use a litter box! He also curls around my feet when I sleep, in the middle of the night! It's so not cute! I guess the only people I that knows that we're werwolves are our neighbours, the Greyfangs. They are vampires who basically experience the same things we do. Their daughter, Megan (I call her Meg) is my best friend, and only friend. She actually understands. She's been homeschooled too. She can turn into a bat, run super fast, walk on the ceiling and is immortal. My name is Courtney Miles and I am now fourteen years old. Funny thing, the only ears I have are the one on the top of my head. If you look where normals human ears are suppose to be you will see nothing. There's nothing there. My flowing hair covers those spots. No humans know about any of us. Besides, people are better of knowing that werewolves and vampires aren't real.
