Chapter 10- John

I rushed back to my house that afternoon after searching for Kaitlyn and Henry. They went missing last night. Ronnie, Kal, and Kai were in there watching a video. Ronnie was sobbing and Kai was holding her.

"What is it?" I asked pushing my way to the front so I could see the laptop too. It was Kaitlyn and Henry. Kaitlyn started struggling from something unseen. Henry carried a big bucket of wolfsbane and set it next to Kaitlyn's feet. He dipped her feet in. She screamed in pain.

"You'll get a video everyday, John. Just like this, and you won't find me. I'm long gone," Henry said. He went behind Kaitlyn and took off her mouth restraint. "Go on Kaitlyn! Beg your Mate to come and save you." Kaitlyn was silent. Henry squeezed her jaw.

"Beg him, or so help me I will break your jaw!" Henry yelled. Tears streamed down Kaitlyn's face.

"Please, John, please save me," Kaitlyn sobbed. Henry patted her cheek and pulled out a pocket knife. He plunged the pocket knife into Kaitlyn's thigh and she cried out in pain.

"I'm going to do one last demonstration then turn it off for the day, but this one is going to hurt," Henry said grabbing a syringe. He filled it with wolfsbane and pulled up Kaitlyn's sleeve. He stuck the needle into her vein.

"Please don't. Stop," Kaitlyn begged just as he injected the wolfsbane. She screamed in agonizing pain, and struggled in the chair. I felt her pain, fear, and sadness. I was pissed.

"That'll stay in your bloodstream for quite a while," Henry said. "As for you John, you have until tomorrow. Then I'll send another video."

"Turn it off," I growled. None of us could listen to Kaitlyn scream anymore. Kai shut the laptop and Bonnie kept crying. Kal looked at me.

"We'll find her man," Kal said. I left and transformed into a wolf. At least half of my pack followed me. We searched the woods all day and ended up getting back home around midnight. No luck. I crashed on the couch and fell asleep quickly. I woke up to loud banging on my door. I quickly opened the door. Kai, Kal, and Ronnie were standing there. Ronnie was holding a CD. Shit.

It was two p.m. and I didn't realize it had gotten so late. We all went inside and put the CD in the laptop. Henry's face appeared and I pressed play.

"Hey John, today you will get Kaitlyn back. I'm going to reveal where I am right now but you may want to watch the entire video first, or you'll be very confused," Henry said.

"What?" I whispered to myself. Henry showed me his location and I wanted to go immediately but he said I'd want to watch. The camera turned back to him and he grinned.

"So last night I put a specific kind of poison in Kaitlyn's water. Now, it's not deadly but it does mess with the mind. It will make me look like the person she loves the most. Imagine what I could do with that," Henry said. I slammed my fists on the table. Henry went inside and showed Kaitlyn in a cage.

"John! Oh my God, I thought you'd never find me. He left the key in that room behind me," Kaitlyn said as Henry set the camera up. "What are you doing?"

"Just relax," Henry said. Kaitlyn sighed in relief. Henry turned to Kaitlyn and walked towards the cage. He pulled out the key and opened the cage. Kaitlyn hugged him.

"That's not me!" I yelled. Henry slapped Kaitlyn hard enough to knock her against the cage.

"How could you let yourself be captured?" Henry yelled, posing as me.

"I-I'm s-sorry," Kaitlyn stuttered. Henry pulled Kaitlyn up by her hair and slammed her head down on the ground. Blood flowed from Kaitlyn. No. Henry kicked her in the stomach continuously, until she began coughing up blood.

"Why are you so idiotic?" Henry yelled.

"I-I t-thought we were in love J-John," Kaitlyn sobbed. She stuttered my name. She's terrified.

"How could I ever love a wolf who will never transform? I was so disappointed when I found out that you're my mate," Henry growled.

"T-Then w-why did you save me from J-Jack?" Kaitlyn asked. Henry kicked her in the face and kept kicking all up and down her body as well as her back. He kicked her chest and in between her legs several times.

"I don't know," Henry said pulling out a pocket knife. Henry got on top of Kaitlyn and slowly cut her body all over. Kaitlyn was sobbing and bleeding so badly when he finally got off of her. I could barely see her skin because it was covered in blood. "I'm done here."

The video stopped and the four of us stormed out. The place where Kaitlyn was being held was right outside our territory and it didn't take us long to get there. We found a large cabin that we all burst into. There was a big cage in the middle of it with Kaitlyn inside it. She was curled up in a ball and didn't look up. I crouched in front of the cage.

"Kaitlyn," I said quietly.

"Henry's gone, and he covered his scent," Ronnie said. I saw the key in the middle of the cage out of our reach. That sick son of a bitch.

"Kaitlyn, it's John," I said softly. She looked up at me with fearful eyes. She was crying.

"P-Please don't hurt me," Kaitlyn whispered pulling herself closer together.

"I'm not going to hurt you. I'm not, I swear. Just hand me the key," I whispered gently sticking my hand inside the cage. She cowared away.

"Kaitlyn, it's Ronnie. It's okay, hand us the key," Ronnie said quietly. Kaitlyn stared at her. They were having their own conversation. Kaitlyn looked over at me and quietly handed me the key. I barely touched her and she flinched away. She's scared. I opened the cage and climbed inside.

"Hey, hey, it's okay," I said when she started sobbing again. She was covered in blood.

"I thought you were hurting me! I thought he was you and I don't know why," she sobbed throwing her arms around me and groaning in pain.

"I know sweetie, I know," I whispered. I picked her up carefully. She was still crying and she wouldn't stop.

"She's still scared," Ronnie said.

"Henry's not here anymore. You're safe," I muttered kissing her bloody forehead. Once again my Mate has been broken and there's nothing I can do to help her.
