I didn't mean to cause this. I never meant for us to do this. I never wanted it to happen. I couldn't bare the thought of last night's horror etching a mark in my mind. The unexpected did really turn up, like it was meant to be. But in reality, it was coming.
I was only a teenager. I hadn't understood life at this point, neither had she. Just young and going about our own business. All of that was about to change. How I hear you ask? Well let me tell you how.
Me and Els had been best friends for our whole lives, literally. There are pictures of us from when we were two, playing in the sand pit in the back garden on a lovely summer's day. Me and her were like brother and sister, we knew each other very well. Well enough in fact we knew more about each other than ourselves. Always remembering birthdays and other special occasions like her's and my parents birthday's too.
We went different primary schools. She went Evergreen primary and I went New Haven Primary. The schools always had a rivalry when it came to town sports. Especially the football. Each team playing their best, I remeber the time we beat them in the final. 3-2 was the final score. But we never let our school
rivalry get in the way of our friendship. We made the most of the weekends and school nights together, whether that was playing catch, or watching TV, it was quality time and we both admired every second of it.
