If you've ever just sat down with an empty mind, you'd realize how messed up the human race is. If you were to just think, nothing else, you'd notice we haven't really evolved at all. We still only trust ourselves in the end. We still leave people in the dust. We still hardly know right from wrong.

I still hardly know right from wrong. What even is right from wrong? Who you believe in? Who you are? Who you.. love? What even is love? This feeling in your stomach? This strong trust? Or is it just hidden lust?

My head spun with these thoughts as I lay in my tent. Why was I thinking these things? Because I've seen how we haven't evolved? Because I've never felt love? Because I've never been loved? Because I'm.. lonely?

Birds started to chirp outside. I sighed, that means I didn't sleep at all last night. I crawled out of my sleeping space, knowing David would get us all up soon anyway. Might as well give him this one surprise. Even though that might send him a signal I don't want.

    Want to show, at least.

"Hey, Max." I jumped, startled. I scowled, going back to my calm posture.

"Damnit, David, don't scare me like that," I scolded. He gave an apologetic smile. I just frowned at it. "Why aren't you waking everyone up?" I asked, confused.

"You look like you need the quiet aura right now. Besides, might as well let them sleep in this once." I quirked up a brow at him.

    "Bullshit-"

    "Language."

"Ugh.. cut the crap, David, it's more like you need the 'quiet aura'. So go back to your lodge or whatever." He gave me this look, which I knew exactly what he was inwardly saying. I groaned. "I will not leave. I.. promise."

"Alright then. See you later, Max." He ruffled my hair, which I swatted at, then left. I crossed my arms.

    "Whatever, David.."
