7 Things OnlyGirly Tomboys Will Understand

My favorite color is pink: not the sweet, quiet, pastel kind of pink; the loud, buoyant, electric kind of pink. The Barbie kind of pink. I also love a big, full bow: on a gift, on the back of my dress, or on my head. My coffee mug is sparkly, my phone case is bedazzled, and I don't own a single plain, nude, boring bra.

I also love to play basketball - and when I play, I play with the boys. I have a hat collection spilling out of my closet, and I like to get down and dirty hiking in the woods, or playing volleyball on the beach. I love to rock a cool pair of kicks...

But I also love a good pair of Red Sole Patent Leather Pumps.

So am I just a walking paradox; an anomaly; a round head in a square hole? Someone called me a girly tomboy once, and the label actually resonated with me. Not that we need labels, but if you're a girly tomboy too, here are some things that you will surely relate to:

1. You're rocking an oversized T, with a black lace bombshell bra underneath.

You may give off the typical tomboy appearance, but that's just because you're most comfortable in chill clothes. You manage to keep your element of girly- girl because you feel sexy in your pretty little things.

Plus, you know that it's pretty hot for a guy to find sexy lingerie where he's least expecting it.

2. You like nice things but you thrive in the dive.

You may be dressed nicely - dolled up and polished - but that sure doesn't mean you can't enjoy drinking a nice pint in a hole-in-the-wall bar. People might not expect it from you, but you've mastered the squat method in the dinky toilet and you're a professional at getting spilled drink off of your dress. Just rub it in.

3. You wear nail polish but when it chips, you don't mind.

Sure, you keep up with the manicuring of your nails but it's also not a necessity for you. Essie's After School Boy Blazer blue/black color still looks totally fine after it's chipped.

Okay, fine, maybe it looks like shit but it sure won't ruin your day.

4. You wear perfume but sweat it off later that day.

Not all girls like to wear perfume: people recognize your scent, your fragrance fills a room the moment you walk in, and it's just another thing to do in the morning.

You like to sport a nice feminine perfume, but you also don't sweat it if you smell like gymafter your intensive kickboxing class.

5. You don't let other people treat you the way that you look.

You're wearing heels and a dress, and you throw the strongest punch on the punching bag at the bar.

You're wearing lots of bangles, rings, and long dangly earrings, and you kick everyone's ass at bowling.

Deal with it.

6. You like hanging with the boys, but you love being a girl.

You like to play video games with the guys, watch football, and bet on the game. You're with them so often that sometimes they forget that you're a girl. You like being with them, not being one of them.

7. You're good at sports, but also good at makeup.

You are both: the girly girl in makeup, and the badass on the field. You like to feel pretty, and putting on some mascara or eyeliner does just that, but when it's time to suit up and bust out the footie skills, your hair is up and you're ready to win.
