The Window Between Two Places

There is a window
Between two places
On one side, little girls
wear blue dresses
And tea parties, they fancy
On that side, the finest fabric
clothes the little boys
They watch their fathers
Knowing one day,
They would be just like them.
On the other side, the children
are seated
Their heads leaning against
the window
Watching the raindrops
fall
Wondering what they will become
When they are no longer
tears of the sky
An ocean 100 meters deep,
1000 wide
Or a cloud, that all children
long to live in
Away from chains
That keep them from
getting to the other
side
