Nyssara Oneshots

Beloved

Hey All! So this is just like my Avalance book, just oneshots of our favorite assassins being together. Prompts are always welcome and encouraged!

"Beloved?..." Nyssa said softly as she entered their quarters.

Sara wiped at her tears and turned to face Nyssa, "Hey.."

Nyssa's heart broke at Sara's bloodshot eyes and puffy cheeks, "Oh Sara.." Nyssa moved to sit next to Sara at the edge of their bed.

Sara shakes her head as tears sting in her eyes once again, "I'm so sorry," she chokes out a sob, "It's all my fault.."

Sara squeezes her eyes shut and clutches something close to her chest. Nyssa gently grabs Sara's hands and looks at what she's holding.

A sonogram.

Nyssa pulls Sara into her arms and holds her as tight as she can, "Shhh beloved, it's alright.."

"No! I.. It's not okay! I lost our baby! I lost- I'm sorry..." Sara hides her face in Nyssa's neck.

Nyssa rubbed her back in slow, gentle circles, hoping to calm her down. Sara kept crying and mumbling "i'm sorry" over and over again.

Several minutes pass before Sara's cries turned into sniffles, and she slowly pulled away from Nyssa, keeping her head down.

"I was planning to tell you tonight.." Sara whispered.

She looked to the side, she looked anywhere but Nyssa, not wanting to see the anger, disappointment, and sadness that must be in her eyes.

"I found out last week.."she took a stuttering breath in, "I was already 11 weeks."

Sara blinked away the new round of tears in her eyes as Nyssa placed a comforting hand on her knee.

"I've already miscarried once, and 12 weeks is when the odds of losing your baby drops significantly.."Sara's voice cracks towards the end.

"I thought.." Sara looks up and takes a deep breath in, "I thought, I just have to make it a week. One week. One week and we'd finally be having our baby." The dam breaks once more and silent tears stream down Sara's face.

The entire time she was listening, Nyssa had been teary eyed. But she had to be strong for Sara, she needed to be. Her tears fell slowly down her cheeks as Sara started to cry once more.

"And then we had this mission," Sara sobbed.

She angrily brushed away her tears, "I tried so hard to be careful Nys, I really did!"

Sara finally looked at Nyssa and saw her crying, and she hated herself just a little bit more.

"I stayed behind when you and Sa'rab went to complete our mark. I kept watched and used the bow, you know it's not my favorite. I did everything I could to make sure I came home with our baby safe and sound.." Sara looked down again, "But I failed.. I was distracted..I was caught up thinking about the future, our future.."

She looks back up at Nyssa, "I kept thinking of what our baby would look like. If it would be a boy or girl. How gentle you would be with them.."

Sara gulps and puts her hair behind her ear, "I know it's a rookie mistake, and there's no one to blame but myself, but I didn't hear him coming.." her voice breaks.

"He grabbed me by my shoulder and punched me in my stomach..He only got in the one hit before I killed him, but I knew in my bones, that that's all it took.."

Nyssa hasn't said a word since she entered their bedroom, "Please say something Nyssa.."

Nyssa looks Sara in the eyes and puts her hand on Sara's cheek, "I do not blame you Beloved.."

That's all it took for Sara to jump back in to Nyssa's arms, wrap her arms around her neck, and hold on for dear life, "I'm so sorry Nyssa.."

"Shh Beloved, don't cry, It's going to be alright."

Nyssa rocks them back and forth, whispering sweet words into Sara's ear.

Sometime later, the couple end up laying down, Nyssa on her back and Sara curled into her side. Nyssa had one hand tangled in Sara's golden locks, and the other entwined with Sara's

"Nys.." Sara said, voice barely above a whisper.

"Yes beloved?"

"I want to try one more time.."

Nyssa looked down at Sara, "are you sure beloved?"

Sara took a deep breath and nodded, "not right now, I want more time grieve this one. But yes, I want a family with you Nyssa. We're basically already married, we can have a real league wedding and everything. I want life with you Nyssa.."

"So do I my love."

Nyssa kisses Sara softly, sparks flying the moment their lips touch, just like their first. She leans their foreheads together.

"So do I"
