A/n: Hiii! Thanks for reading my story! I took a lot of time going through this to find any mistakes, but if you find anymore- done hesitate to point them out to me, it'd help :). Hope you enjoy reading! X
It was at (2.7) of the Northern Delician woods that Iris Priestly watched the peaceful deer. Her green eyes studied it as it grazed on the small patch of grass, probably the only area of plant which she could see that wasn't smothered by the powdered snow. Carefully, silently, she reached for her hand carved knife in waist pocket, and traced her cold blooded fingers along the fine engravings her father had created- not yet taking her eyes off if the mammal.
She crooked her head, listening, her breath visible in the freezing air. It's head popped up, it looked towards the trees but didn't see her, her dark brown hair blended immaculately with the tree.
Her emerald eyes focused, she inhaled, then exhaled slowly, before throwing the knife.
Her knife glides and snaps into the poor deers side and she watches as it flops, it's feet running without ground, frantic.
It resurrects itself, blood slipping from its side. Staining the pristine white snow, pink. Injured, the animal sprints.
Like a light bulb, the young women switches on and almost automatically sprints after it- the trees strobing past her.
After the deer was fast enough to be rid of her line of sight, she doesn't falter, following the trail of blood in the snow.
There it stood, in the clearing of ice. Waiting for her, with steam pouring from its mouth and nostrils.
Iris approaches, treading heavily and uncaringly on the solid ice.
Removing her furred glove, she reaches out and gently pets the animals frightened face, it's eyes were glancing around wearily, the only moving part of its form.
Pulling her gun out of her holster, she pauses.
Bang.
It's eyes were ghosts.

Iris pulled the knife up towards the brisket, and worked calmly without expression.
The deer lay on it's side, the steam still rising into the chilly air.
The female breaths hard and reached deep into the body cavity and pulls out intestine, stomach, liver.
Enough to last at least a week between her and Laron, her father.
Suddenly, she freezes- sensing danger. With her hand deep inside the animal, she listens and looks out into the forest. No sound.
In his mid twenties, with a larger fur coat, her guardian, Laron, Stood behind her, in a prepared stance, like a ghost. He had dark brown hair, though not as dark as iris'; and similar green eyes, though not as prominent. He had somewhat of a kind face, but the ice covered that well. Both had very pale skin, which merged with the snow.
"You're dead. Right now. I've killed you."
Iris paused and thought that was a pretty idiotic thing to say.
"Oh? I did not realise that. The gates of hell must just be far away. Lovely."
After the brief moment of sarcasm, she spins, spraying deer-blood on the snow and bring her fist right to Laron's face. He easily blocks, and thumps an open palm onto Iris' shoulder- sending her sprawling in the bitter snow.
