borne a giant, or jötunn, he once lived a normal life amongst his fellow giants. learning magic and getting into high jinks that were not unlike something another child would've experienced had to be the highlight of his days back then. though, when he became a young adult, everything changed for loki. the jötunns knew the god's well for they were their direct descendents. and they liked to preach that they were benevolent beings, wanting only to create peace, but they'd been feuding with them for millennia. the killing of his fellow giants was a regular practice to them and seemed to even be praised. so when odin ... the king of the god's, took an interest in loki, he was caught off - guard.
he had no way of knowing what odin's true intentions were when he offered him the chance to become one of them. mixing their blood, or becoming his so - called 'blood brother,' was a decision he decided to make however. perhaps loki could take advantage of this opportunity to make sure the aesir would pay for what they'd been doing to them. plus, it would be understandable considering that despite the fact that he was given the title of the god of mischief by them, they couldn't help but resent him for his trouble - making. it would be years before this came out but it was prophecised that he would bring an apocalypse and death to them -- an unintended and, in his opinion, deserved consequence of bringing him into the pantheon.
