Second Chance

It was dark at Night when a portal ring appeared and opened up, what came out what a green hedgehog with pruned quills, it looks as if someone cut them by force. The green hedgehog wore a black leather jacket with flames on the sleeves, at the end of the sleeves it seemed as if they got ripped in battle. He also has red sunglass and black and green shoes, as well as white gloves to finish the look. The hedgehog was known as Scourge the hedgehog, after his team bailed him out of jail he ditched them when he overheard they were planning on using him as bait and get rid of him so he grabbed his stuff and a wrap ring and left without anyone knowing. When he got to Sonic's world it was late at night, he was right outside of Sonic's house and looked inside 

"mom!" Sonic whined as his mother bandaged him up "I'm fine, it's only a few miner scratches" Sonic said which made Sonic's mother glare at him "A few miner scratches!? you have cuts and bruises and a large gash on your forehead!" His mother shouted which made Sonic flinch, he hated when his mother started yelling like that, it always made him feel guilty 

"Bernie, don't worry so much, you know how Sonic is," A robotic hedgehog said as he walked in the room with a smile "but Jules-"

"no buts, he's here, isn't he? yes with a few bruises but getting hurt does come with the job of being a hero" Jules said which made Sonic smile, he could always count on his dad to get him other of his mother's smothering moments. Sonic's mother sighed and gave Sonic a kiss on his forehead "alright then, well mister go straight to bed so your wounds can heal" she said and Sonic nodded in response "alright" he said and left to his room while his parents went into the kitchen

Scourge glare at the family picture on the nightstand in the living room, Sonic had everything while he had nothing. He envied how the hedgehog always got his way which angered him to no end. The green hedgehog was actually about to go in and wreck the place when he realized he couldn't defend himself like before. His quills were still shortened and his body still ached from the aggressive rehabilitation and beatings he received from being in prison. He sighed and stepped back, he had to at least wait until he was a little bit better before going into combat against the hedgehog. Scourge looked at the rest of the houses then looked at the woods and ran off.

Scourge watched from a branch as everyone walked along knothole enjoying their day, it was like they didn't have a care in the world, Scourge wished he could have that, just be him and not have a care in the world. Scourge sighed and looked up at the blue sky, he wasn't bad, he just had a rough past. He actually wanted to be a hero like Sonic too but things didn't go the way he planned and went south real quick. Scourge was about to leave when he saw Sonic staring at him from a distance. Scourge stared for a moment before running off. Sonic ran after him.

When Sonic got deep into the forest he looked around "SCOURGE! WHERE ARE YOU!" Sonic shouted, he didn't know why Scourge was here but he had a feeling it wasn't good and he was going to put a stop to it. Scourge was hiding behind a tree, he didn't want to face Sonic yet. He wasn't ready yet. 

"Scourge!" Scourge tried to sneak away but stepped on a branch 'fuck' Scourge thought and saw Sonic running at him, Scourge dodge him before running off while Sonic ran after him when Scourge was running pain suddenly shot up through his leg as he fell down. Sonic stopped and looked at Scourge holding his leg in pain 'I wonder what they did to him back in prison...' Sonic walked up to Scourge who flinch and looked away, this made Sonic look at him in surprise, he never knew Scourge could flinch like that. It made Sonic's blood boil at the thought of what they could've down to his counterpart but it also made him quilty since he was responsible for putting Scourge in that place in the first place

"Scourge?" Sonic asked as he knelt down but Scourge didn't say anything, he just looked down "are you alright?" Sonic asked again. Scourge sighed, if Sonic was anything like him then he knew he wouldn't give up "yeah I'm fine" Scourge lied. Sonic rolled his eyes "no your not, your hurt, you need help. Let me help you"

"help me? oh please! I wouldn't be in this mess if you hadn't put me in that hell hole in the first place!" Scourge shouted as he stood up but as soon as he put pressure on his foot his yelped and fell back down and held his leg in pain. Sonic sighed he wanted to make a comeback saying that if Scourge hadn't tried to rule the world then he wouldn't have put him in jail in the first place but arguing wasn't gonna get them anyway, besides he didn't like seeing him this way "...I know, and I'm sorry...let me make it up to you, truce?" Sonic said as he held his hand and smile. Scourge stared at him for a moment cause he knew Sonic used that smile on anyone who needed help, the green hedgehog was about to decline when pain shot up through his leg again, Scourge knew he wouldn't be able to survive with his leg like this so the green hedgehog sucked up his pride and sighed 

"alright blue, truce" Scourge said as he took Sonic's hand. The blue hedgehog helped Scourge up and put Scourge's arm around his neck while he put his arm around Scourge's waist to hold him up "c'mon let's get you to my house so mom can help ya"

"can't your mom come here....me walking through knothole just isn't..." Scourge sighed, Sonic looked at him in sympathy "don't worry, no one's going to get ya, I'm here remember and I promise that I'll help ya get back on your feet...if you promise not to take over my world anymore" Sonic said as he looked at Scourge

Scourge rolled his eyes "trust me blue, you don't have to worry about that, taking over this world isn't worth it" Scourge said with a deadpan expression but Sonic smiled in return "good to know, now c'mon" Sonic said as he helped Scourge limp out of the forest and into Knothole. When the citizens saw Scourge they either gasped, whispered or murmured towards each other or hid to not get hurt if a fight started. Scourge knew everyone was afraid of him, he couldn't blame them but the whispering was getting annoying "just ignore them green, we're almost there anyway" Sonic whispered 

"Sonic!" Sonic flinch and sighed while Scourge groaned 'fantastic, the royal bitch is here' Scourge thought as he saw Sally walking up to them, when she came up to them she put her hands on her hips "what are you doing? why are you helping Scourge?" Sally demanded "I'll explain everything later Sal but let me just take Scourge to my house, he's hurt" Scourge looked when Sonic said that, he felt embarrassed just being at the mercy at his rival. Sally crossed her arms "Sonic-" Sally started but was cut off "don't worry I know what I'm doing, see ya" He said and left with Scourge. Sally pinched the bridge of her temple and hoped things turned out alright. 

When Sonic finally got to his house he was met with shocked faces, but Scourge could clearly see that Jules was glaring at him 'I wonder if he remembers the time I came here before I was taken to prison' Scourge thought and hoped that he didn't
