Something Different

The winter breeze swept into the forest as December arrived. A young girl who went by the name Danielle stumbled through the forest wrapping her beige colored scarf tightly around her neck. She was looking for a nice place to rest as she scanned her surroundings. Nature began to disperse as winter came along. Though she didn't know ..everything was about to change.

Danielle POV
It's cold! My hands dug tightly in my jacket, teeth chattering constantly.
"I'm surprised I haven't turned into a popsicle yet." I smiled as I started to make snow jokes.. 'There is ..SNOW way I'm getting out of here." I laughed halfheartedly but got back on to the task in front of me. I don't know where I'm going but I just have to keep goi-
I turned around quickly as a branch snapped. I reacted quickly as paw steps padded around me.
"H-hello?"
I sounded like a 4 year old stuttering for my mother. I frowned at the thought of parents. Though I couldn't continue to think as a growl erupted from the bushes. I hesitated until I saw a pair of emerald green eyes glared into mine. Nope not today!! I began to jog.. which turned into a run until I was sprinting. I had the highest score on my pacer test so I could run for a long period of time. A smile loomed at the thought of my old school. I used to have friends until I told someone that I used lived in a foster home. I got adopted though, by a pair of ..abusive parents. Anger burned into me but quickly disappeared when I came back to my senses. As I continued to run a thudding noise began to get louder which was rather frightening. The city began to come into view and my heart lept out of my chest until the air was knocked out of me. 
I fell onto the ground hard as a black cat hissed and ran away..I got up slowly taking in what just happened. I got scared by a cat.. cats are the most idiotic creatures. Definitely black cats..
"Better keep going..I can't find food here."
"DANIELLE!! GET OVER HERE!!" A strong voice screamed making me whimper. My mother. I knew she was drunk by the way she swayed usually father would use broken beer bottles my mother would use a whip. I shivered but something in me.. I began to run. Run faster as I heard gun shots behind. I didn't know what was happening but as I kept going a black cat was protecting a male kitten from its father maybe? I didn't stop though. I kept going. Jumping over logs and tripping over twigs. Branches scratching my face. 'I can't go back...I can't go back!! I CANT GO BACK!!! I don't know what happened but the ground started to fade and I was running on a white surface the forest disappearing. The abuse my parents gave me was effecting me physically and mentally all of a sudden I tripped over air. I've seen multiple people trip but I never dared laugh at them...I fell.. I started to fall I'm...I'm falling!!. I was falling into an abyss. I'm dreaming it's all a dream. A peaceful dream.. I sighed accepting what was to come. Maybe I'll just fall for eternity. Feeling no wind blow against me. Instead of feeling like falling I felt like I was floating. All of a sudden images started to show. I watched as it showed worlds but different..like another universe. I fell and fell until an image below started to get larger every hour.. to every minute to every second. That's when I realized I was falling into a new world. A new
universe. My heart began to beat faster.  As the white world disappeared and I found myself on a sidewalk. What just happened.. All of a sudden a scream was heard. I whipped my head around as a female..thing backed away in horror as a little thing was scrambling for the money that was supposedly stolen. I got up as a black silhouette dashed past me. I didn't know what was happening so I got up and ran.
"Human!! A human is here!"
I began to run. I was scared to death and I saw the black silhouette again but I kept running.
