A Few Years Back- 2010

Eyes watched the other skaters closely as the young girl leaned against the railing, her eyes dazzled and inspired by the graceful movements of the ice skaters, twirling about in the rink. She silently wished she'd get good enough to go pro one day. It wasn't until a hand touched her arm did she realize she wasn't alone on the end of her rail anymore. "Oh, hey, do you skate?" The other girl's voice asked and the girl looked over and swallowed. She was astonished by the other's goddess-like appearance. She had long wavy honey blonde hair and fair yet pale skin but she knew she was a vampire, noticing her deep red eyes and fangs displayed. "Just a little but I just started about two years ago." She looked down to notice the girl was wearing a dress, a beautiful glittery, sequined purple tutu-like dress. "But we're vampires right, we learn fast. I can show you a few things sometime if you'd like, I'm Cecilia, what's your name?" Oriel immediately perked up, she went to the academy like her and was one of the older students. She was popular and a grade above her. She admired the beautiful student and even had a small crush on the girl.

"Oriel."

"Oh right, the princess!" Cecilia bowed slightly and chuckled.

"It's nice to meet you. I'm just gonna go change, would you like to come? Then I could help you out?"

Oriel narrowed her eyes but soon nodded, shrugging. Cecilia turned to walk over to the bathrooms right by the rink and Oriel followed. She guessed Cecilia was about 16 or 17 and wondered what she'd want with a 15 year old like her. Perhaps, she really did want to help her. She shrugged, maybe this was a good thing. She followed her inside, raising an eyebrow when she gestured for her to come into the stall with her. "It's fine, we're both girls."

Oriel walked inside and soon Cecilia was pulling her close and her lips were on hers. Oriel pulled back quickly, shocked and they both stared into eachothers eyes and then Cecilia kissed her again and Oriel melted into the kiss. Oriel didn't know what was going on, she didn't even know Cecilia was into girls, hell she couldn't even confirm she was until now.

"Cecilia!" An older woman's voice called and the two pulled back. "Oh, shit that's my mom. But I'll see you later, at school? We'll talk soon, bye!" Cecilia changed quickly and Oriel turned to give her privacy and she left the stall. "Goodbye, Princess." She called and Oriel's cheeks were flaming red.

Oriel had gone to school the next day and saw Cecilia again as she promised, and they exchanged numbers. She learned that Cecilia had her eye on her for a while and that seeing her there, she got the courage to talk to her and she was glad she did. She hadn't ever liked someone the way she liked Oriel. The two began talking a lot, hanging out and soon fell in love.

But their love story was cut short..

Oriel knocked on the door, a guard stood behind her and her mother to her right. "I'll be fine, mother, you know Cecilia's family." Oriel rolled her eyes, looking up at the her. Queen Vivian sighed, rolling her eyes right back. "I know dearest, but I want to see you here safely. Besides I haven't seen Drina in so long." She smiled, thinking about her best friend. Oriel sighed, flipping her hair over her shoulder and she folded her arms across her chest as the door finally opened.

Oriel watched as her mom squealed and hugged Cecilia's mother, Drina Couture. She was the Queen of France but chose to live in Moonview, Colorado. Oriel rolled her eyes before letting her eyes wander off but her eyes looked over at her honey blonde friend as her strawberry scent nipped at her nose. She lit up, biting her lip hard. "Alright, mom, I'm leaving."

"Oh, okay, have fun dear."

Oriel took Cecilia's offered hand and took her into the house, her guard following close behind. As soon as they walked into her room, Cecilia closed the door and her lips were on Oriel's. Oriel kissed back softly, hugging her tight. Her touch left a tingle on her skin and her heart began to pound. Oriel expected them to pull apart and watch TV or cuddle like normal but they continued and Oriel let her lead her. Soon clothes were stripped away and Oriel was taken to a world she'd never thought she'd know until now. They ended up in the bathtub together, moments later and Oriel cuddled into her friend. "You know, I love you right." She laced their fingers together and kissed the back of Oriel's hand. "I've never loved a girl as much as I loved you." Oriel's cheeks flushed and she believed her. "I-I love you too." Oriel whispered and pecked her lips.

Oriel was picked up the next day and at school she could barely contain herself, wanting to tell her best friend, Natalie about the whole thing. But what would she think? What would anyone thing about a vampiress sleeping with another vampiress? She decided to keep it to herself but soon word got around that Cecilia was into girls. Oriel wondered what that meant for her and if Cecilia was telling people about them. She planned on confronting her and followed after her as their math class let out. Her eyes watched her closely and she noticed another girl walk into the bathroom with her and Oriel gasped, her heart getting heavy. She hesitated and walked over to peer into the bathroom. It seemed empty, but she noticed two pairs of feet in the bathroom stall and she heard kissing noises and moaning echo throughout the bathroom. Oriel gritted her teeth and stormed out of the bathroom, tears threatening to pour down her face. She made it to her science class, telling her teacher she was sick and demanded to go home right away. The teacher called her mom and she left the Academy in a hurry. As soon as she got home she jumped onto her bed, finally allowing tears to stream down her cheeks. She couldn't believe she would do that to her. How dare she, she thought. I'll make her pay. But Oriel didn't get her chance as the next day she found out Cecilia was pulled from the Academy for 'reasons unknown' and some even said her family lost their royalty and moved back to France. Oriel didn't know if she was happy about it or not but either way she didn't want to see her face again. Oriel pushed the whole fake romance away to deal with more pressing issues, school and her sister's impending coronation and her own training to be the next heir to the throne. Besides, she couldn't be with her even if she wanted to. That might be alright for humans but for vampires, it wasn't accepted, deemed immoral and unsophisticated she knew no matter where her heart took her she'd end up with a guy in the end.
