"That sounds stupid. We won't find Brielle by just asking around," I sigh.

Avery gives me a deadly look but says nothing. Instead, she makes her way to the front door and starts handing out posters of Brielle, while other members of the group start asking questions to the various students. Me? I decide to follow the sensei, as he's probably the only person I'll get anything useful out of. I make sure no one's watching me, and then I quietly trail behind the sensei to a small office room.

After he shuts his door, I wait a few seconds and then knock on his door a few times. "Come in!" a voice with a very slight Japanese accent says.

I quietly open the door and walk inside. "Hey, do you mind if I ask a few questions?"

"I don't have a whole lot of time, but go ahead." The sensei adjusts his glasses and shifts his attention to a stack of papers on his small desk.

"Would you happen to know anything about the whereabouts of a mid-teen girl named Brielle?" I ask.

The sensei looks at me like I've lost my mind. "What makes you think I know anything like that?"

"Well, you see, my friends and I are searching for her, and this seemed like a good location to check, so..." As I'm speaking, the sensei's face starts to twist in a strange way.

As if he's... offended.

"Are you accusing me of a crime? Is this because I'm Japanese?" he asks, starting to become defensive.

"Um, sir, it's not a wise idea to jump to any conclusions here. I was just asking-"

"You're the one jumping to conclusions by thinking that I would hold a hostage here!" The sensei has now stood up and marched right up to my face.

"Dude, no need to get hostile. Just relax, okay?" I say, taking a cautious step backward.

"I will do anything to defend my integrity," the sensei growls, clenching both of his fists.

"Oh, like beating me up?" I retort.

The sensei's eyes flare. In one swift move, he cocks a fist back and sends it flying in my direction. I roll out of the way just in time.

"So that's how you're gonna play it, huh?" I ask. I give him a "come-here" gesture with my fingers, and he lunges for me. This time, I'm unable to move out of the way in time, and end up pinned to the ground on my back with this crazy lunatic leaning over me.

"You made a mistake. Now, you shall pay the consequences for your mistake, you disgrace," he growls. I start trying to break free, but this man is heavy and has an iron grip. He cocks another fist back, and I close my eyes, preparing for the worst.

But then I hear a small "clang" and the sensei yelping.

MACKENZIE

I kinda figured there'd be trouble the instant I noticed that Mia had left the big room the rest of us were in. When I overheard arguing between her and somebody else from across the hall, I knew things were going to get bloody, and fast.

And upon taking a peek into the office room, I find myself to be correct. The sensei has Mia pinned down to the ground and is about ready to throw a punch directly at her face. So, being the loving sister I am, I of course have to intervene.

"Damn it, Mia," I growl. It's not uncommon for Mia to get herself into trouble and I have to step in and save her sorry ass. I pick up the office chair and whack the sensei right in the head with it. He yelps and reaches for his head with both hands, giving Mia the opportunity she needs to escape.
