Six months and three lawsuits later, Katrina, Zavier, and I are living cozily in our new apartment in New York City. We all have shitty jobs that pay minium wage, but we're pretty happy. My mother is completely out of my life, and Zavier still hasn't heard from his parents after the incident with Father Patrick at the Catholic School. And in six months, on our 1-year anniversary, I intend on asking Zee to marry me.
Life is good.
"Hey asswipe, pass the popcorn," Katrina politely asks me.
With my eyes still glued to the television screen, I hand it over, pouring some in her lap during that action.
"Shut the fuck up Kat... This is the good part of the movie!" Zavier scolds.
"Both of you dumbfucks, Shhh!" I shush them.
Our weekly movie night was interupted by a knock at the door.
"Who's gonna get the door?" Katrina asks.
"Maybe they'll go away..." I suggest.
Zavier shrugs and we go back to watching our movie.

As time goes on, the knocking gets louder and more urgent.
"Should we still ignore it?" Zee asks.
"I'm getting a fucking headache!" Kat complains.
"Fine, fine! Pause the movie and I'll see who it is!" I say.
Kat pauses the movie as I get up from the couch.
I open the door, revealing a middle aged woman with jaw-length, straight brown hair and ice-blue eyes. She wears a business suit paired with high heels.
"Where is he?" She spits at me, "I know you have him!"
"Excuse me, ma'am... But what the actual fuck are you talking about?" I ask.
I know... I'm ridiculously polite.
"My son. Zavier." She replies harshly, glaring into the dark apartment.
"Momma?" Zee asks, getting up from the couch.
He looks scared. He's wearing one of my band shirts and a pair of my boxers. He stands partially behind me, his hand holding mine tightly. He's sweating nervously.
"Zavier Lucas Grayson... You have disgraced your family! You've disapointed your parents. We've spent months... Months! And countless paychecks trying to locate our son! How dare you disapear with this... ugh... We've raised you better than this. You're a faggot and will burn in Hell. But don't worry honey, if you come home with Mommy, we'll fix you! This 'love' is a sin!" Mrs. Grayson says, trying to pull Zavier from my grasp.
"No..." He says firmly.
"I'll call the police. This lover of yours will be arrested for kidnapping. So will she," She says, addressing the last part of her threat to Katrina.
Zee looks up at me, tears in his eyes. He kisses me, and I'm certainly surprised, but I kiss back. He pulls away before it turns into a full-blown make out.
"When I turn 18... Please find me... It's only a few months, but please don't leave me with... them. I may be leaving, but you're the one who holds the power the walk away," Zavier pleads, his icy blues piercing into my mismatched eyes.
"I'll never leave, Zee. I love you. I'll find you." I say. And I mean it.
I think he understands that I mean it, and he nods, tears streaming down his face. He reaches up to wipe the tears from my own face. I didn't even know that I was crying.
"I love you too, Ross. I'll be waiting for you." He says.
His mother pulls him from my arms, and starts dragging him away, not even giving him time to pack or anything.
"I FUCKING LOVE YOU, ROSS RAFAEL RAVEN!" I hear him scream down the corridor, his voice thick with tears.
"I FUCKING LOVE YOU MORE, ZAVIER LUCAS GRAYSON!" I scream back to him.
I fall to my knees and sob in the doorway to the apartment. Light from the hallway faintly illuminates our apartment.
He's gone.
The love of my life is gone.
I'll get him back.
His mother's words echo in my skull.
"This 'love' is a sin!"
Well maybe it is. And I certainly enjoy being a sinner.
I feel Katrina rub my back in an attempt to comfort me. I hear her small sniffles as she tries to hold in her tears. I turn and hug her tightly. She's all that I have left now.
"We'll find him," She whispers.
"I know," I reply.
I should've known that life would never be easy for Zavier and I...
