Avery and Mackenzie are the first two people to make a move. Thanks to training she did back in the illuminati, Mackenzie's a fairly skilled acrobat and has major parkour skills. Avery's not quite as talented, but Mackenzie has taught her a few of her tricks, and plus, Avery is much more graceful than Mackenzie. The two girls run in front of the mall and use whatever ledges they can to climb up to a windowsill. Sam, Heath, Luke, ahd the hovercraft run to an area in the middle of the street and take cover behind some pots, trash cans, and bushes. Mia and I hide around the corner of the mall, and Skylar and Elle hide behind another.

Right as the man starts driving the Lamborghini, Avery and Mackenzie leap from their position and land right on the front hood of the car. The car begins to swerve slightly, and that's when the other three guys and the hovercraft come out. Sam, Heath, and Luke use their guns, and the hovercraft uses a rapid-fire pea shooter to shoot out all four of the car's tires.

The cars screeches to a halt seconds later, which Avery and Mackenzie use as their chance to hop off of the car. The man opens his door and marches out of his car, and immediately gets ambushed by Elle and Skylar, both of whom are armed with pepper spray. They blast it right in the man's eyes, and he stumbles back and yelps out in pain. Mia and I come at him from behind. I whack him in the back of the head with my crowbar, causing him to fall forward. Mia then pins him to the ground and holds the knife to his throat.

"Who's the tough one now?" she smirks. The guy starts squirming, trying to escape, but Mia has him down pretty hard. In addition, I'm literally sitting on top of his legs, keeping him from getting up.

Two uniformed police officers arrive on the scene at that moment. "We'll take it from here," the shorter one says to us. Mia and I get off of the guy, and the guy makes a last effort ditch attempt. He doesn't get very far before the two deputies tackle him. One of them even tases him to immobilize him.

A few more police cars and an ambulance arrive on the scene, along with a news van. The police officers handcuff the kidnapper and drag them to their car. The kidnapper screams and cusses and fights the entire way there, but finally gives in when he's inside the car.

"Well, that was certainly exciting," Mia nods.

"Yep. Sure was," I reply, giving Mia a fist bump.

It's at that moment that we realize that there's a huge crowd of people surrounding us, and they've just witnessed everything we were doing to stop the kidnapping.

The crowd around us immediately bursts into a roar of applause and cheering as the police cars begin driving away. Normally, our battles or encounters don't take place in public, so this catches us a little off guard.

Reporters start crowding us with cameras and microphones, asking all sorts of questions. Heath, Luke, and I have to literally shove them away and decline interviews. I think I end up having to say, "No comment," at least eight times. Even the hovercraft is strangely getting asked questions, and it just holds up a hand and flies away.

The three of us guys meet up with Elle and Skylar, the former blushing and the latter looking very disturbed. "We really should try to keep these encounters private from now on," Skylar mutters.

"Amen to that," I reply, sighing.

Mia, Mackenzie, Sean, Shanna, and Avery show up next, and they all look just as annoyed as the rest of us are. "I swear, I'm gonna have to start flipping off people soon," Mia grumbles when they join us.

"I've already flipped off two reporters while on camera," Skylar shrugs. Two people then bump into her, and she turns around and gives both of them the finger.

"Let's get out of here while we have the chance," Heath suggests. We all nod in agreement. We have to maneuver through the huge horde of people until we're able to get to a small alleyway between the mall and its neighboring building. I'm about to get the hovercraft set up for flying, and then I hear someone clear their throat.

All ten heads turn in the direction of the noise, which came from the girl we just rescued. She seems to have mentally recovered from her near abduction experience. "Listen... I just wanted to thank you all for... rescuing me back there. That was a really brave thing to do."

I debate being a major asshole and just being all like, "Yeah, whatever," and then leaving, but since she's acting very genuine, I decide to return the favor. "No problem. We do need to get going, though," I tell her.

"Oh, no worries. My blessings go to you all," she says, beaming. I gotta say, seeing how appreciative she is does bring me a sense of satisfaction. She then leaves the alleyway and is ambushed by a group of interviewers.

"Alright, let's leave before we draw any more attention," Avery says when we're already hopping on board. I do a quick peek into the alleyway to make sure no one's watching us, and then raise the hovercraft into the sky and begin flying. I then let Heath take over for piloting (he, Luke, and I tend to take turns with piloting the hovercraft)

Unfortunately for us, our take-off does attract some attention from all the news people, who point their cameras at the hovercraft and begin snapping pictures. Elle nudges me in the shoulder and gets me to look down at the crowd, specifically at the girl we just saved.

She's waving at us from below, and I can just barely make out a wink from her. Elle and I look at each other, smile, and give her ok-hand signs before we blast off into the distance.

Ah, teamwork scenes. Honestly surprised I haven't tried more of them yet. This one was particularly fun to brainstorm, and I plan on doing it a few more times throughout this story (in addition to having some battles/encounters where a specific character gets to ultimately save the day).

This story is already 50 pages in Doc length, and we're not even close to the halfway point of the story yet. Jesus...
