it was summer in chicago once again.

i got up and went to get ready for work. i was also going to look at apartments today after my shift.

i saw mike getting up to get ready for work and emma was still asleep since it was her summer vacation.

"hey, where's taylor?" mike asked me.

"she worked late last night, she stayed over at a friends." i replied as he nodded.

"you know, i think she's really got her drug problem under control." mike told me.

"yeah, i can tell she's doing better." i said and we both turned when we saw emma walk in the kitchen.

"someone's up early." mike said to her.

"going over to carl's then i'm gonna help him move the meth that monica left them." she explained.

"well, have fun?" i said with a shrug.

"later." emma said leaving the house.

"promise me you'll never leave us meth when you die." i told mike as he chuckled.

"you know, a few months ago i would've never thought hearing that was normal but now it almost sounds somewhat sane." mike said making me laugh too.

"hey, i've gotta get to work and then i'm gonna go look for an apartment." i told him.

"have a great day!" mike shouted before i walked out.

"you too, love you!" i shouted back.

"love you!" i heard before i shut the door and i made my way to work.

i went over to the studio and i was working with another record dealer who i lowkey thought was an asshole but, that's just part of being in this kind of business i guess.

after a few hours in the studio, i went across town looking at apartment offers but i still couldn't find any nice ones.

i went back home and i started to look online for ideas of where i could find an apartment and emma came in and sat beside me.

"any luck?" she asked me.

"nah, i'm gonna keep looking, though." i replied as i pulled up a picture of an apartment that looked like it had mold in it.

"yeah, no." emma said.

"this is harder than i thought." i said letting out a sigh.
