"The bitch." Some food flew from Hayden's mouth. I laugh at him. He holds a finger up to me and then chews before swallowing. "Eat the other half." He put the plate in my lap.
I shake my head.
"We go on tour in a couple hours. I'll eat then." I tell him. He shakes his head.
"Take one bite." I did because Hayden and I had this argument a million times. He always wins.
"Now did that kill you?" Hayden asks and I shove him.
"Esther get your ass out of the bed." I roll over in the bed hitting Hayden in the process.
"The fuck." He mumbles into his pillow. I lean over him and grab my phone.
It is 1:30 in the freaking morning. I groan and lied back in my bed.
"Why are you jumping me?" Hayden still manages to make a joke even when there is drool on the corner of his mouth.
"It's tour day." My voice was scratchy one of the many things I hated about mornings.
"Can it be tour day in a couple more hours. I mean they can't leave without us." Hayden suggested. I nod as my eyes begin to close shut.
"I will use the hose." My Dad's voice sounds a little too close to our door.
"We're up." I shouted slipping out of the bed. My head spinning a little when I stood up too fast.
"What's this 'we' shit?" Hayden asks burying his head further into his pillow.
He's completely wrapped up in the blankets. So I decide to pull them quickly from under him, resulting in the blondie to spin and hit the floor.
"Do you have something against me?" Hayden asks standing up. I throw him a shirt to put on.
"You decided to do this stupid duo thing." I walk into my bathroom and splash some water on my face.
"You love it though." Hayden calls as he slipped the shirt over his head. I ignore him and step out of my room.
There were people buzzing around the house. We leave at 5 yet there was still stuff left to do. Hayden and I manage to slip past all the frantic people.
Some even stop what they were doing to look at us. As if they didn't realise they would see us because you know it wasn't like they were in our house.
The kitchen is filled with people. None seemed awake yet. Well apart from my father who was talking away to his ear.
I sit on the island between Andre and Greg. Both don't seem too pleased to be up so early. Andre wears a tank top and Nike sweats where Greg has opted for basketball shorts and no shirt. Both have serious be head.
"Why am I up?" Andre asks sipping his coffee.
I shake my head unsure of the answer. I try to look over Greg's shoulder but his arms are too big. Or I am too small.
"What sort of caffeine do you have?" I ask him giving up on trying to look over the mountains shoulder.
"Coffee." Greg lifts his cup to his lips.
Greg doesn't speak very much in the mornings. I nod and sit back in my seat looking around the room until my eyes landed on a person I wasn't expecting to see.
"What are you doing up?" Charlotte looks up at me.
She had been up before me yet she still managed to have a full face of make and designer clothes on. She shrugs.
"Beats me." She answers before going back to her phone.
"That might be the most civil conversation you too have ever had." Andre laughs.
"It's still early." Greg smirks.
Someone is waking up.
"Ok so I just got everyone up early because I wanted us all bright eyed in case we run into any cameras." Dad explains as he ended his call and quickly dials another.
"Where's The Faults?" Hayden asks.
"In a ditch some where I hope." I mumble under my breath. Andre hears though.
"They live closer to the first stadium then we do so they're meeting us there. All we have to do is drive their tour bus over." Dad answers speedily. He's in work mode.
"Good morning everyone." My mother chirps sauntering into the room.
I narrow my eyes at her. Everyone looks at her suspiciously. Even Charlotte who usually knows everything that's happening with my mother's life.
"Darlings can I speak to who outside for a moment." My mother's smile is too wide.
Something is up. I look around the room wondering who she was talking about.
"Us you airhead." Charlotte hisses as she walks by me.
I roll my eyes and follow after her. We walk into a separate room. I recognise it as our old play room. My mother looks between us smiling. She places a hand on both of our shoulders and sighs.
"Is someone dead?" Charlotte and I asks at the same time. We look at each other in disgust at what just happened and then back at our mother. Shock ran over her face.
"No what makes you think that?" She asks dropping her hands.
"You're just acting strange." Charlotte explains.
"Well I have good news for you both." There are no lines on her face.
No crinkles by her eyes as she smiles. No wrinkles to show her age. She had gotten rid of them, making her less like a mother.
"What's the news?" I ask. My mother takes a deep breath.
"Charlotte is coming on tour with us."
-------------------------------
Esther's beloved twin is coming on tour. That should turn out well:)
Anyway regarding Esther's refusal to eat earlier in the chapter. She doesn't have an eating disorder. That doesn't mean that she doesn't find it hard to eat sometimes. Everybody get's like that where they feel like just skipping a meal. She in no way has a diagnosed ED.
I just wanted to make it clear from the start because it will be continued on throughout the book and I didn't want to offend people if it seemed like I was trying to explain what it is like to have an ED. I'm not. Esther just feels down about her size sometimes as many people do.
Ok serious talk over. I hope you guys are enjoying the book and the characters! Not long now until we meet The Faults.
