A summer full of  adventure, love, and death. It was unbelievable that almost a full year ago, four twelve year old boys discovered the rotting corpse of Ray Brower. It could've been one of the worst experiences for a kid to go through. It was now the summer before eighth grade. Teddy and Vern kind of just became strangers not long after to eachother and Chris and Gordie. The four boys all still hung out at the treehouse, just usually at separate times because they wanted to sneak a cigarette without their parents having a clue or if they just couldn't stand to be at home any longer because Teddys father was mentally ill and constantly hurting the innocent boy. Gordie's parents still hadn't fully recovered from their oldest son's death, Dennis who passed away in a car crash. Chris' dad was always drunk and abusing his family, and Vern was just Vern. Always getting bullied. Four boys who couldn't just run home to mom or dad and express their feelings, just wanting to show that this was so difficult for them all to handle.
A note from Chris Chambers was attached to each of their lockers on the last day before summer. Teddy stared at the note that had Chris's sloppy handwriting thrown onto it.
"Meet me in the club after school.
    -C.C."
The boy with glasses gave the paper a long look, knowing that "the club" was their old treehouse.
He peered up and over towards the trashcan across the hall, shoving through the crowds of kids just so he could throw the small note away. He didn't really wanna spend time with people who he experienced seeing a dead body with, even though they were so close, they just felt so distant from one another.
Right before Teddy shoved the note into the garbage can, he was interrupted by his Science teacher, Mr. Darke, who was a tall, slim man with a Crew Cut. He bent down and gave Teddy a big ol' cheesy smile. "Hope to see you next year, Theodore." He said, turning away to other students so he could tell them all goodbye.
Teddy took another look at the note and sighed, stuffing it into the back pocket of his torn up jeans and traveled to the treehouse. Their reunion.

Teddy took a long breath and arrived at the treehouse. He stared up at it as it was slowly falling apart, piece by piece. "Woo...Here we go again." He mumbled under his breath as he climbed up the ladder and knocked on the small opening.
