When I approached the little girl Tompson lead me to, my mouth almost dropped to the floor. She was so skinny. I just stared for a second.. I felt embarrassed and my face got hot. I handed her the water I found and put in a bowl. She wouldnt take it from me so I just put it down. I also put the few berries and various fruits I collected down.
She waited a second, she gobbled it down. "Alright." I thought. "Question time."
"What's your name?" I asked. The little girl flinched.
"My name is Emily.." Her voice was shaky and kinda timid.
"Ok well Emily, my name is Amber and this-" I looked behind me to Tompson- "is Tompson." Emily nodded.
"So Amber.. I was thinking me and Emily should probably stay with you for tonight.." Tompson said. I death glared him. No. Fucking. Way.
"Just for tonight!!" He assured me. "I dont have a safe place for Emily.." He looked at me, his eyes pleading.
"Only for tonight. And only because of Emily."
"Thanks Am." He kissed my cheek.
"Whatever." I said. "Just follow me." I grabbed Emily's hand and walked away into the darkness..
