Albert set his phone down on his bedside table after sending that message and smiled to himself. He and Race had been talking nonstop for the past two weeks and have been getting along great.
The one issue that was still up in the air was Albert being deaf. He and Race had yet to have a conversation in school so there had been no need to mention it but now, Albert was starting to feel things; things that you don't just feel for a friend. So keeping up just a texting friendship was not an option for Albert. He just had to figure out when and where to tell Race the truth—that he was deaf.
