Beginning

*Past*

There was once a war between humans and monsters. The humans were so much stronger due to their physical forms, for monsters were made of only magic. Many of the monsters noticed this and with hope, sent their children and two adults away from the war. They ran and ran until finally reaching an abandoned village, one that was not too damaged. There they settled down, creating a place where they could live in peace.

*Present*

The village flourished, the population grew and even a few humans joined the village. It was a beautiful place, one where humans an monsters could live in harmony... 

"Kathrine?" a little monster said to the small female.

"Sikami whattttt?" The girl said back.

"Wanna join me? I'm going to the cliff" Sikami whispered the last part.

"Really?!? you want me to come?!?" Kathrine quietly screamed in excitement.

"Of coarse I do! You're my best friend after all!" Sikami said taking Kathrine by the hand and leading her towards the cliff.

As they reached the cliff Kathrine looked around in awe. She couldn't believe such a beautiful place existed and Sikami walked towards the edge, looking down. She couldn't see the bottom but believed that she saw a glimmer of light at the bottom, as she leaned closer to get a better look, she slipped and she fell. Kathrine rushed over to help her but ended up falling as well. Both girls screamed as they plummeted to the ground below. Kathrine died upon impact, while Sikami was surely going to bleed to death... But before she could, she saw something. Kathrine's soul... She reached out and touched it only to absorb it. She stopped bleeding but, she started to change... She was a cat monster but, her skin was changing. now she looked as if she was half herself and half Kathrine. She looked like a monstrosity, a horrible creature that wasn't supposed to exist. It seemed that Kathrine was still active but she could only speak inside their head. They decided that they weren't going home as they picked up a mask that was laying on the ground where they fell. They would change their name. Masky.
