Hi! I'm Jayden, I'm 12 and I recently just moved to a place called Maydin and I've got a new house, a new school and a new room. We've just moved in today actually and we're setting all the furniture up and moving boxes into our new home.

I unloaded my stuff from the moving van and brought it up to my new room, it wasn't much as I threw a lot of stuff away when we moved out of our old place. My dad put my bed and drawers together in the afternoon and my mum put my desk in place. I pushed my bedside table next to my bed and hug my Marvel posters up. My space was already feeling quite cosy.

The house was big having a giant living room, a dinning area, a kitchen, a conservatory, tons of storage cupboards, a bathroom and 3 bedrooms. I had the second biggest room after my parents and the last smallest one was just used as a storage space for a lot of the boxes for now.

It was the evening and after tons of hard work, the three of us sat down for spaghetti bolognese. "Oh yeah, Jay..." my mum started, "I found a dark, shadowy painting in one of the storage cupboards that I think was left here by mistake."
"And?" I questioned curiously.
"And so, I hung it up in your room since you're all into that gothy teen stuff."
I face palmed myself inside my head and cringed slightly because of what my mum just said 'gothy teen stuff'.
"Why?!" I asked.
"If you go and look at it, you might like it!" My mum insisted.

After dinner I went to my room and saw the painting. It wasn't actually that bad, sure it looked a little old with its detailed wooden frame and a bit of dust on it but it actually suited the kind of dark theme to my room.

Later in the evening around 9pm, I decided to go to bed after an exhausting day. So I got ready to sleep and got into bed. The painting was on the wall I was facing but it didn't bother me. Until it started GLOWING! I was freaking out a bit and pulled the covers closer to my chest. It glowed for about 5 seconds and then this dark shadowy figure just shot out and dashed through the window that was conveniently and thankfully open. It disappeared into the darkness. I thought I was hallucinating. I tied to ignore what happened and I went to sleep.

The next morning I woke up and it felt like it was all a dream. I went downstairs for breakfast and then I got ready to go to my first day at my new school.
