Chapter 1: My Soul Mate

I'm trapped. It feels like everything's falling apart, no one here knows what's going on and to be honest I'm not to sure either.

I laugh to myself what a silly thought I had. To think that theirs anything wrong with the society, they give us a whole life full of exciting things and today... I'm going to find out who my mate for life will be. Tonight everyone who has reached the age of 17 gets to go to a beautiful church farther away from here and we get to wear beautiful dresses that come down to our feet,mine is a midnight blue that sparkles in the night it makes me feel delighted not to wear plain old cloths for the day. I decided to wear my grandmother's necklace who unfortunately wasn't here to see this day but in my heart.... Grammy your always here.

I feel a tap on my shoulder it's my best friend Noah he has a concerned look on his face " Hey you ok

Kimber you look pretty stressed?"
"Yeah I'm ok I was just thinking about my grandma" I sigh a bit but I'm ok this is a special day and nothing can ruin it. "Noah you look nice in that suit all fancy and dressed up" I laugh a little and he laughs to. He is really handsome though, he always has been but I could never say that because we could never be together following the guide lines of the soul mate indicator. Unless... We were matched together. "What are you thinking about Kimber?" I sigh again. He knows me to well "oh nothing important... Hey look the bus is here!" He takes my hand and I take his and we go on together with are family's trailing behind us.

We arrive at the church and it's just astonishing, the whole church is lit up by mini glowing lights and when you enter the ceiling is filled with glorious floral designs, I wish I could be here every day. I say bye to Noah as they seat me and my family in our places. In front of us are plates with foods and different dessert's that we can taste... "WOW! Jackson and Thedor would love this." Jackson and Thedor are my younger siblings... They weren't allowed to come because they aren't old enough. I was thinking of taking them a few things but we're would I put it? I couldn't ask my mom to put it somewhere, she's really strict with the rules in the society so we don't get in trouble.
